Alpha Knight’s Cursed Mate

NIRVANA

“Hey. Be careful out there, okay?”

I hugged Kailin tight. I always wanted a sibling, but I only got to experience that once I met Kailin. I felt the tightness in my chest as we pulled apart and thought that I might not see her again.

“Don’t die.” Dylan hugged me tight. At the corner of my eye, Grandpa forced out a smile and nodded.

“You, too, Dylan. I’m glad I got the chance to meet you.”

“Me, too. It’s been an honor.”

Carter raised his gun. “I may be a human, but I’m glad to be here and fight again with you guys.”

“Don’t leave the vineyards unattended. Keep this safe place at all costs.”

“We will,” said Kaleb, seconded by Lennox. “Be careful out there.”

“I’m coming with you, guys.” Luka came to us.” Mac and I decided to join you, Alpha, and Luna. It would be the greatest privilege of mine to fight alongside you.”

“Okay.” Knight looked at me before he nodded. “We should go.”

Zarah created a portal while Archibald talking to Chase. “The shield is almost broken. I suggest you go now.”

Knight and Califf went first, and then I followed through. It brought us to the woods. It was dark at first, but it became strangely beautiful, with magically aligned tall trees.

I looked up. I didn’t see any dark clouds or storms above us.

“Are we still in California?” Archibald was the first to ask in a low voice.

“I don’t think so.” Given Knight was familiar with the place, I believed what he said.

“Or we are still in California, but the question is when?”

I turned to Sebastien. “Is that even possible?”

“Honey, after what you’ve experienced, you should not question if time travel exists, and from how the storm just appeared in the middle of the heat, it is possible.”

Knight and I shared a look.

I glanced at him as he pulled a gun from his back. “Are you going to use that and awaken every God knows what kind of creatures are in this forest?”

“I didn’t think of bringing a silencer with me.” He shrugged, though I felt his fear.

“Well, I’ll be damned.” Michael shook his head.

Alpha Frye came to me. “Do you have the dagger with you?”

“Yes, Alpha Frye.”

“Don’t hesitate when you have the chance. You might only have a small window to strike.”

I nodded at Sebastien. “Or I might not have at all.”

“Don’t lose courage. Our people are there waiting for us to succeed,” Alpha Grady muttered.

“Not so much pressure at all.”

“They believe in us, and we believe in you,” Michael said.

“Thank you.”

After a few minutes through the woods, I smelled decaying woods, wildflowers, and moss, and the landscape began changing, the green leaves dancing in the wind, overcasting the sky.

“What the hell?” Ryden slowed down. “Did you see that?”

“We’re getting closer to whatever he’s cooking there to welcome us,” Alpha Grady motioned to slow down and be careful.

“Stay close to me, Nirvana.”

“I don’t think I wanna go first, Knight.” I breathed in the rich scents of virgin forest and picked out other scents in the air, making me shiver. My senses heightened.

“We’re not alone,” Califf said.

“I was about to say that, son.” Sebastien put his hand on Califf shoulder.

Knight came to my front, looking over his shoulder. “Stay behind us.”

Luka and McKaye covered me.

“You can’t get hurt. You are the one who can kill that asshole,” McKaye said.

I just nodded. I didn’t want to disappoint them, and there was no time of doubt when we were facing the monster who killed hundreds or even thousands of underworld creatures, including Gage.

Out of nowhere, two wolves, one brown and one gray, appeared before us. They were not definitely friendly, and their pitch-black eyes showed off their fangs.

Michael and Grady shifted to their wolves and tried to scare the wolves at first. The gray one lunged at Michael, and the second followed, aiming at Grady.

Before he got a bite, Grady came in, clawed the brown one, and threw it away from him while Michael instantly killed the gray one.

“We can’t keep getting distracted and wasting our energy. We have to go to the epicenter and find that asshole,” Califf said, which everyone agreed on.

I inhaled deeply as the fog suddenly appeared and the temperature dropped. From the beautiful, magical forest, the fog swallowed it into the darkness filled with uncertainly and dark creatures. The hair at the back of my neck stood as I felt someone was watching us, ready to attack and tear us apart.

We continued walking through the woods. Above us were fireflies.

“It’s beautiful out here if Cyrius isn’t about to end our world.” Knight looked up.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

“Fireflies. Some would say fireflies are a symbol of hope and guidance. It reminds us in our darkest moments, there is a light.” It was enlightening coming from Alpha Frye.

“I hope these are right.” Alpha Ryden said.

I sucked in a breath when coldness flared on my shoulder. A shudder of terror ran through my spine. I could feel him now. He was dangerously closer. He’d been watching us.

I looked around the dark path, but it looked clear, or I could not see through the naked eye.

“You feel something?”

I gripped Knight’s arm. “We’re not alone. I feel his presence.”

From our distance, I could see the iridescent light resembling an Aurora borealis glinting through the woods. It was his shield.

Suddenly, thunder roared, startling us, and the lightning struck, causing me to gasp as I saw something in the shadow of the woods.

“What did you see, Nirvana?” Sebastien asked.

“He’s here.” The moment the words left my mouth, the trees crashed down around us like they were shocked down with a strong force.

“Fuck!” Califf threw a curse as we dodged down away from the falling trees.

Before I could cover my eyes from the splintering woods, the forest shook as if it was hit by a high-magnitude earthquake rocking the woods.

My heart hammered in my chest as agony and terror ripped through me.

My breathing held as a heavy branch just fell before me. I rolled over and staggered to my feet. Then the trunk charged forward as if controlled by someone, which I knew, trapping us with the trunks of trees.

“Show yourself, asshole!” I yelled in the woods.

“Is everyone okay?” Knight asked.

“Aside from splinters, I’ll live,” Alpha Ryden replied, pulling splinters off his skin.

Before I could turn around, a massive wind whirled above us. The forest rumbled and howled in anger, causing the splinters, branches, and leaves to fly around, scratching my skin.

Then wolves ran in our direction. I heard a cry in our link. It was Alpha Ryden.

“Ryden!” Knight called his name but left nothing but his blood.

Whatever wolves in the woods, sick or controlled, were starting to hunt us one by one.

“We better shift. We could see better in our wolf form.” Knight looked at me before he shifted.

With every move I made, my muscles tensed, and my jaw clenched. I picked up the dagger from my boot. It charged against my hand.

Asina charged out, transforming me into the Guardian.

The alphas jumped away from me.

Asina showed off her true nature to the alpha. I raised my arm, glowing in blue flame, and for the first time, so as the blood dagger.

Growling low, the giant black wolf with pitch-black eyes stalked into us. Without hesitation, Sebastien’s white lycan wolf lunged at the black wolf. It didn’t take ten seconds, and the black wolf fell to the ground, lifeless.

The feral snarl came from my right. A brown wolf lunged into me, his teeth exposed, about to sink on my shoulder. I raised my arm, swinging the dagger in the air. In a snap, the brown wolf whined in pain before taking his last breath, turning him to ashes.

“I’m tired of waiting.” I leapt forward.

A wave of flames rippled through me, and a blinding flash struck me through the chest. The lightning exploded around me, throwing me back. My body rolled on the ground, and the dagger fell off my hand.

“Nirvana!” Knight screamed into the link.

“I’m fine.” Groaning, I gathered all my strength. I went on my knees and grabbed the dagger back.

I stood up and searched for Cyrius, but he stayed hidden until I heard whooshes around me.

He used his power and threw everyone with me into the darkness. Bone cracking, snapping, and thudding echoed in my ears, and I was left alone to deal with this monster.

I realized that I didn’t know how to defeat him with his endless power and without him showing off his face.

“Enough! Show yourself from hiding, Cyrius! You want me? Here I am.”
