EPISODE 72 Time doesn’t matter
NEW YORK-MEAGAN SWIFT HOME
IN THE NIGHT
Meagan dropped the mug in the sink as her gaze flickered on the round metal band on her finger. When they walked into the jewelry store, alpha Carl picked the first ring that had caught his eyes in the section. It was a Diamond ring and fortunately it was her perfect size. And alpha Carl Damien went down on his knees right in front of the people present asking her to marry him.
Meagan smiled as she remembered how she had cried and couldn’t control her tears and excitement. She admired the engagement band on her finger even as she wandered out of the kitchen to the living room.
Alpha Carl was sound asleep in the bed after another round of love making. Her phone beeped as she was about settling on the couch. Meagan reached for the phone and the caller’s ID was Penelope.
A big smile was her face as she sat on the couch. Meagan already knew why her sister was calling. She had put a call through to her father to let him know that her fiancé was coming over to visit them tomorrow. And she had also sent messages to her siblings to let them know about it. Penelope must have a lot of questions because the last time Meagan was home, she never mentioned being in a relationship.
Meagan picked up the call. “Hi Penelope.” She greeted.
“Hello Meagan, I am sure you are doing great.” Penelope said. It didn’t sound like a question but a direct message.
“Of course, Penelope. So go straight to the point.” Meagan replied.
Penelope laughed. “Alright. So Meagan, tell me about this man who is your fiancé. The last time I checked on your relationship status, you made it clear that you weren’t interested in being with any man. And I even picked the director of the hospital over clingy Jones.” She rushed out her words.
“Well I met Carl at Hazel’s wedding. He was the best man.” Meagan answered after letting out a sigh.
“Wait.. if Carl was the best man who is Julius best friend… that only means-” Penelope paused trying to think about what her sister might be thinking too.
“Yes.” Meagan mumbled.
“Oh my God! He is the alpha of moon stone pack!” Penelope gasped in surprise.
“You are right.” Meagan knew she had caught her family off guard by the sudden news of her getting married. She was excited. After all, she won’t be the single one at the table anymore.
“Meagan.. how did you manage to get an alpha of such a big pack to fall in love with you?! This is the most shocking news that I have ever received in my life! Tell me more about him. I would to love to hear about how you met him and how you both clicked.. everything!” Penelope pestered. She was smiling happily.
“There is no much things to say about us. As you already know, I have known him for more than a month. We spent a nice time together at the wedding but we didn’t keep in touch because we had both agreed to a secret adventure.” Meagan explained.
“Come on, it doesn’t matter if it is a secret adventure or you have only known him for a short time.” Penelope giggled.
“Well, that’s not all.” Meagan said.
“What else?” Penelope asked.
“Carl came back to ask me to be his mate but only for him to find out that I am pregnant.”
“What?!” Penelope screamed over the phone. It was more shocking than hearing about her baby sister getting married to an alpha.
“I am about seven weeks gone.” Meagan added.
“Wow! Meagan! This is unbelievable!” Penelope sounded excited over the phone.
Meagan sighed. “Do you think dad would be disappointed if he finds out that I am pregnant?” She asked.
“Disappointed?! No way! Everything is in check! Carl, the ring, the baby and we just need to fix a date for the wedding.” Penelope replied.
“But remember mom doesn’t like werewolves so I am feeling she might not like Carl and the fact that we only met in a short time and decided to get married.” Meagan admitted how she had been feeling ever since she found out about the pregnancy.
Meagan had envisioned her mom’s reaction to the realization that her grandchild or children would be werewolves. Mrs Taylor Swift would be surprised by the revelation and Meagan can’t stop herself from getting worried at the thought of it.
“Listen to me, time doesn’t matter. And mom won’t have a say in your life anymore as long as you know how you feel about him.” Penelope said in a calm tone.
“I am crazy about Carl. I love him so much. I just can’t help but worry about what our parents would say.” Meagan replied.
Everyone in her family had a serious commitment, they had romantic stories of how they had met and them getting married to their loved ones. Her father’s family are strong believers of long time commitment and they have followed the tradition of getting to know each other and courting for a long time before getting married. And they have records of successful marriages but few divorces because of this tradition. But Meagan seemed like she was breaking the family rule by getting married quickly.
“Meagan, please stop this weird thinking. You love Carl and there must be something he saw the moment he set his eyes on you at the halloween party.” Penelope stated in a slightly raised tone.
“He always say that I am special, unique and beautiful.” Meagan blushed.
Penelope giggled. “I think I like this new Meagan that is totally head over heels for an alpha.”
Meagan shrugged. “I kind of feel at peace. Did you feel this way too?” She asked.
“Trust me, I felt so many emotions when I said yes to my husband. And I don’t regret it.” Penelope answered.
“I won’t regret saying yes to my mate too. I’ll live a happy life with him.” Meagan rubbed her belly.
Penelope smiled. “I can’t wait to see your Carl. I am so excited!”
“See you tomorrow, Penelope.” Meagan sounded resigned.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Take care, baby sister.” Penelope replied before disconnecting the call.
