Chapter 12
"I don't know what I bumped into! I'll clean it up quickly and I won't dirty it again. I'll... take a shower with cold water later!¹'
Alicia was trembling as she pretended to admit her mistake obediently. No one would be able to bear to blame her if they saw her like this. Besides, she was an extraordinarily beautiful woman, who was even injured now.
Following that, Frederick took another bath towel and wiped her hair forcefully. He exclaimed, "You scalded yourself before taking a shower? You're so dense!"
As he scolded, he opened the wardrobe and took a new bathrobe for her. "I'll adjust the water temperature for you! Go out and apply the medication first!" He added.
His tone was not friendly and his movements were rude but it somehow warmed Alicia's heart. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Frederick realized that Alice was standing next to the couch when he got out of the bathroom. He questioned, "What are you doing? Did the hot water scald your brain too?"
Alicia pursed her lips and glanced over her shoulder. "What if I dirty the couch?"
Could he just talk nicely to her?
"Does it make any difference?" Frederick asked in return. He was implying that she had ruined several of his things.
Alice did not hesitate and sat down quickly after he gave his approval. However, she did not feel right on second thought. Therefore, she moved her body and sat on a corner of the couch.
In the meantime, Frederick found the cream to treat burns. He spotted her cautious sitting posture and could not help feeling uncomfortable. After that, he tugged her arm and applied some cream on
her arm.
"This cream is very effective and you won't feel any pain after two minutes! I've changed a set of female toiletries for you, so don't bump into it again! Go and shower! Apply the cream again before going to bed, the red mark should disappear tomorrow," Frederick reminded her.
"Oh! Thank you!"
Alicia got up and recalled something. She added, "Let me clean up the bathroom first!"
"There's no need for that! Don't force yourself! I'd be grateful as long as you don't demolish my bathroom! Just let the servants clean it up tomorrow!" Frederick replied.
"Oh!"
Alicia pretended that her arm hurt and yelped softly. However, her eyes twinkled when she turned around. Round two, a small victory!
Life should be focused on comfort! Besides, she was not a sloppy person!
Alicia still cleaned up the bathroom briefly before taking a pleasant and warm shower.
As soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, she heard the sharp cold voice again. "Sleep on the couch!"
Alicia did not object to this. She then put on the men's T-shirt he prepared and headed to the couch. She understood that there should be a limit to everything and she knew where to stop.
People like him were extremely smart and it was not surprising that he knew her little tricks. Perhaps, he was just unwilling to argue with a woman. Therefore, she could only use the trick once and it would lose its advantage the second time!
Undeniably, Alicia was smart!
In the past three years, she learned a lot about reading between the lines and how she should conduct herself.
Thus, she did not show any signs of gloom as she cleaned up quietly and was ready to have her rest. Suddenly, Miranda's voice came from outside the door when both of them had laid down.
"Master Frederick, are you asleep? Mrs. Clements asked me to bring over some women's clothes!"
Miranda was in charge of serving Grandma. Frederick instantly understood what Miranda meant upon hearing her remarks.
Following that, the two of them got up simultaneously. With a wave of a hand and a meaningful look, Alicia took the pillow and quilt and dashed to stuff them in the wardrobe before jumping onto the bed.
At the same time, Frederick went to get the door.
"Master Frederick, Mrs. Clements said that she did not prepare in advance and she could only find a few new pajamas that laid forgotten in her wardrobe. Although the style is a little old-fashioned, they are still new and it should last Miss Blanchard for the night. Some new clothes will be sent to your room tomorrow morning."
As Miranda spoke, she peeked into the room.
"Alright, thank Grandma for me!" Frederick replied.
