Chapter 7: Mr Martinez's Lover
Chapter 7: Mr Martinez's Lover
There was a certain subtlety when in the face of this confrontation.
If Olivier said something unnecessary, he might very well lose. If he did not say something, however, it
would be hard to win the situation back in his favour.
Olivier stared at Fleur for a long while. Her eyes shone with a calculated intelligence, sleek as venom,
venom that would prove deadly to him if he did not deal with this smartly.
"Fine." Oliver finally bit out. "Then let's start with you setting me up. Tell me the truth about it all. Then
we'll get to the marriage issue."
"..."
Fleur quickly said, "It's not that I don't want to stay with your Grandma, I just have some conditions of
my own."
"Giving up so soon? Scared I'll force you to tell me why you wanted to get close to me?"
"Mr Martinez." Fleur never easily revealed her fear. She calmly continued, "You're wealthy, influential,
not to mention you have a really hot body; any sensible woman would want to get close to you. No
matter how many times you ask me, my reason could only be one if not all of those. Who wouldn't?"
Olivier scrutinised her. A woman with her looks and body could easily get wealth and power from just
about any man.
Fleur was even more alluring than Odette Durand, the most beautiful woman in Y City.
He then glanced at her arm, eyeing the invisible rose there beneath her sleeve.
"Since you know what you're getting yourself into, you better not play any tricks."
Olivier marched out of the elevator the minute the doors opened.
"Stay with me," Fleured hurriedly called.
Olivier ignored her.
Fleur stopped in her tracks. "Stay with me while I'm with Grandma. I'll stay with you wherever you are, This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
for as long as you like."
Her voice was loud and clear here in the underground parking lot, echoing back and forth around
Olivier.
The man turned around. Fleur had stopped by the elevator entrance. There was a strange aura about
her as if she were a temptress incarnate that would not let anything get in her way.
With her stunning face and mysterious past, Olivier was certain she was no ordinary woman. She had
a captivating story to tell, that was sure.
Heat briefly rushed through his body. He squinted at her before saying, "You don't have to right to make
demands. If you insist I carry you again, you won't even get to list your conditions anymore."
"..."
She hadn't thought of that at all.
......
Raoul had sent Fleur home while Olivier went to his company office. She was now at the dining table
eating breakfast all on her own.
Fleur wondered if Olivier not marrying his lover and instead, looking for a random person to deal with
his Grandma was all done in the name of protecting this Virginie.
After all, who would want to put up with reclusing for two years and dealing with this...divine crisis?
"Camille."
"Ah, Miss Leroy, what can I do for you?"
Camille was particularly polite with Fleur. She thought the young woman might be difficult to get along
with since Fleur never really showed any emotion, so Camille stayed polite to avoid offending the
young woman.
"Who is Mr Martinez's lover?"
"Huh?"
Camille was concerned about offending Fleur with her answer, so she dodged the question. "I don't
know, Miss."
Fleur glanced at the bangle on Camille's wrist. "If you had the money to buy a bangle worth tens of
thousands of dollars, I'd guess you would have quit this job by now. It's clearly a woman's bangle, and
even though it has a crack on the side ruining its wholeness you still handle it with care, taking it off
when you were cooking earlier. If it's that precious to you..." It was obvious someone who did not want
the bangle anymore gave it to her.
Camille was coloured red with embarrassment.
"Mr Martinez's lover gifted this to you?"
"Y-yes," Camille stammered. "If Miss Leroy is not happy, I can take it off immediately."
"It's alright, Camille, I only wished to know about her more. After all, I am Mr Martinez's..." She
considered her choice of words. "...official girlfriend. Know thy enemy and all that."
"I see."
"How about this, I'll buy that bangle off you for the price of a brand new one on market right now. You
can use the money to buy a new one, or save it up."
Camille's eyes lit up at that. After all, the bracelet was indeed flawed now with its cracked side, no
longer worth as much as it did. Plus, a couple hundred thousand in cash right now would definitely help
her family out compared to a bangle.
"Thank you, Miss Leroy."
"You're welcome. Come, sit. Let's talk about Virginie."
