Chapter 18 Refuse to Help
Chapter 18 Refuse to Help
"Jane!" Larry couldn't bear it, Larry lowered her voice and warned. "Don't go too far!"
"Too far?" Just then, Jeffery heard her words and gave her a cold smile. "I'm still going too far. Do you
want to try?"
Larry tightly clenched her fists.
He looked at Jane, hoping that this woman would be kinder to him like before and plead for mercy from
Jeffery.
With her current popularity, as long as she was willing to speak up for her. Jeffery would definitely give
her face and let it go.
But Jane didn't.
She just looked at him. Her little face with the two palm prints was cold and determined.
Gradually, the expression on Larry's face changed from anger to unwillingness. And then from
unwillingness to compromise.
He knelt down and bowed his head. "Miss Jane, please forgive me."
Susie couldn't stand it anymore.
She suddenly didn't want to admit that the man in front of her was her husband. She was strong all her
life. And finally she married such a fence-sitter who bullied the weak but feared the strong.
If it happened to her, she might make the same choice. But from this moment on, she really looked
down on this man.
"All right, get out." Seeing that he was almost done, Jane stopped. "But I reserve the right for
appealling. If I hear you slander me again, I will directly sue you for slander."
Larry looked at Jeffery.
The latter did not even bother to look at him, and left the whole matter to Jane to deal with.
When Larry saw this, she hurriedly got up from the ground and followed Susie out of everyone's sight.
Her escaping figure was completely different from Jeffery's arrogant demeanor. Jane looked at him and
suddenly felt that she must have been blind back then to fall for such a person.
"He has gone far." The voice of Mr. Jones rang out in her ear with dissatisfaction. "If you have time to
keep an eye on that kind of scumbag, you should look at me more. After all, I have helped you twice.
Am I not worthy of your attention for an instant?"
Jane said, "Thank you."
"I didn't like to hear these three words coming out of your mouth." Jeffery reached out to pull her and
looked at the wound on her face. "If you really want to thank me, It's better to express it with practical
actions."
"Eh?"
Jane was stunned, and Jeffery did not explain. He pulled her out and said, "I'll take you to the hospital."
"There's no need." She was a little hesitant. "I'm fine. Besides, it's too late. The doctor must be off work.
Don't come for nothing."
Jeffery pursed his lips and said nothing.
He drove her home. On the way, he called his private doctor and asked him to wait at home.
Jane wanted to say that there was no need to be so troublesome. She wasn't that pampered either, but
Jeffery still insisted.
Jane's persuasion was useless, so she simply gave up.
At this moment, her face was truly burning with pain. Especially the right side of her face that Larry had
slapped. It was swollen like a bun, and it hurt the moment she touched it. From NôvelDrama.Org.
She tried to ignore the pain on her face and anxiously move her fingers.
She wanted to ask him what he said about his fiancee in the restaurant before. Did he say so casually?
Or was it because he had really regarded her as his future wife?
