A bad feeling
“I felt a shiver run down my spine as I uttered that sentence.” Joel narrated. “I felt this strong urge to take back what I said as if it was taboo.” He added.
Joel and Adam were sitting on Joel’s apartment balcony with a small table that had a half filled bottle of wine placed on it, along with their almost empty glass.
They conversed while taking small sips from their wine.
They had both played soccer on Joel’s PlayStation before deciding to have fresh air and unload their heads.
Adam had gone first, discussing his issues with his parents. How they urged him to settle in the country and find a woman to marry.
After treating Adam’s subject, it was Joel’s turn to narrate the shareable part of his progress with Nima.
Although they are close friends, some things are meant to be between him and his soon to be woman.
Adam had listened to how Anna had reached out to Joel and the cold response she got from Joel, then to the point he had appreciated the business collaboration and wanted to pick her up.
As soon as Joel uttered that statement, he felt dread enveloping his whole being as if he was making the worst decision of his life.
This had been on his mind as he was thankful that Adam called to come over to his house that day to escape his parents’ nagging.
Adam didn’t stay too long in the country, hence not bothering to get an apartment or buy any property of residence.
He would alternate staying in a hotel, his family’s residence, or Joel’s guest bedroom.
He had been forced to leave the hotel by his parents as usual and finally forced to leave home for the night due to his family ganging up on him to talk about marriage.
He likes spending time at Joel’s place more.
Adam was amazed by the business collaboration and urged Joel not to joke with securing it or let any dread he might have felt affect his business’s progress.
Although they compete with net worth, Adam didn’t want his friend to lose the opportunity to promote his brand through the means presented to him on a platter of gold.
Most of the related actors wouldn’t agree to promote a business like Joel’s without demanding a fortune.
While Joel is a rich individual and could afford whatever fee they demanded, it will be a loss to his side, because as soon as the actor moved on to be a spokesperson or involved in any movie or scandal, the world would instantly forget he promoted a business.
However, with this present collaboration, his business will stay relevant for as long as the movie continues to show to the public.
The script added depth to the main leading role, putting more scenes into his life as a CEO and explaining what his business was about.
This will help Joel a lot.
“I don’t think I can go pick her up. Call me crazy for being careful of possible chances of hurting Nimalaya’s feelings in the future, but I think I want her more than the risk that comes with this collaboration.” Joel said, and Adam frowned.
“Are you kidding me, bro?” He asked Joel in disbelief.
Joel sighed and shook his head. “I have a bad feeling about getting closer to Anna again.” He said.
Adam shook his head. “That is not my point. You have every right to be careful, but don’t put too much meaning to this and lose such a business opportunity. She might have moved on from you, but she had spent enough time with you to trust your character and could just be playing things safe.
Imagine how many top actors and actresses she’s putting to use for her debut. It looks like she’s playing things safe and knowing your kind of person. She must be assured that you won’t mess up her plans.
The movie would do well either way, even if the scripts are bad, but it’s actually good. It’s a win for you, and I’ve known you to be a man who could handle his work and emotion well.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
What has the new lady done to my friend?” Adam gave him a playful look after his last statement.
Joel pondered what Adam said, but Nimalaya still won over any possible resolutions.
“I’ve never wanted someone as much as I wanted this woman in my life. I guess I will continue to be a jerk and make things official still. I’m not meeting her unless necessary.” He said in a final tone.
Adam would have call Joel crazy but after the realization that Joel couldn’t love a woman all his life, he didn’t think it’s too much to be careful to not lose someone his heart now beats for.
“I will go in your stead to pick her up. Let your assistant go with me. I’m also an old friend, and Carey will discuss things further with her. After she settles, you two can make plans to sign the documents.” Adam proposed.
Joel agreed, finding It to be a good idea.
The two moved on to other conversations and soon returned to their individual room to rest for the night.
……..
While Joel is able to have his friend with him to have nice times together, things have gone awkward between Nima and Emily.
Nima felt worried that her friend was drifting away after knowing that she had someone else to talk to.
Joel has been a great person in her life, but having Emily apart from her for so long makes her feel like a part of her had been taken away.
It has been almost 2 weeks that Nima had seen Emily, and whenever she called, Emily would claim she’s busy.
Unbeknown to Nima, Emily had encountered Gama and was scared to lead him to her location, hence the reason she left the owner of the body in control.
And that owner feels like Nima is a nuisance.
