Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1218

Theodore lay on the bed, unable to fall asleep. He felt a fire burning in his heart, his mind unable to stop thinking about Rosalie. Whether his eyes were opened or closed, all he could see was her.

Frustrated, he flipped to his side to pull out a drawer and retrieve a bottle of pills. He couldn't calm himself down without medication.

Just then, his phone rang. Theodore picked it up and saw the name on his phone screen-it was Aurora.

He flung his phone aside.

It kept ringing, irritating him greatly. Eventually, he answered the call. "What do you want?"

"Theo, save me! Save me, quick!"

Shock registered on Theodore's face. "What happened?"

"He's chasing after me... Can I go find you? I really have nowhere else to go! I'm so scared!"

"Who's chasing after you? Where are you right now?"novelbin

"I...I'm now at... It's so dark, I can't tell. I'm hiding in a small alleyway right now. As I came here, I think I walked past a bar called Endless. I took a right turn and ended up in this alleyway. I'm hiding in it now. I can't talk, I think he's coming. I'm hanging up!"

With that, Aurora cut the call abruptly.

Theodore was worried that something might happen to her, so he quickly got changed and left the house.

Very soon, Theodore managed to find Aurora with his men in tow. She was hiding next to a trash can in a small alleyway.

When she heard his footsteps, she was so frightened, she flung the trash aside and hugged her head, saying with a trembling voice, "No, please spare me. Please!"

"Aurora, it's me," Theodore said as he crouched down, holding her arms. "What happened to you?"

"Ahh!" Aurora shrieked, but upon seeing who he was, she immediately threw herself into his arms, sobbing hard. "Theo, you're finally here! I thought I was going to die. I was so frightened!"

The alleyway was dark and it was hard to see anything. Theodore's men held torches that shone on Aurora's face.

Upon seeing Aurora all covered in filth and wounds, Theodore knew that someone had hit her very badly. His brows knitted tightly.

"What happened? Who hit you?"

"Theo, I... I..." Before Aurora could complete her sentence, she collapsed into Theodore's arms and lost consciousness.

"Aurora!"

Theodore called out to her twice, but she did not respond. He immediately carried her in his arms and left the alleyway.

By the time Aurora stirred awake, the sky had turned bright.

Theodore sat on the couch napping.

Aurora sat up on the bed, her entire body sore and aching, as if all her bones had broken.

Yerick had beaten her up so viciously.

"Theo," she called out to the man on the couch.

Theodore heard her voice and opened his eyes. Upon seeing that Aurora was awake, he stood up and said 'You're up. What exactly happened? Who hit you?"

"Do you still remember my ex-boyfriend?" Aurora asked him back.

"Did he come back to find you?" Theodore asked.

Aurora nodded as tears streamed down her face.

"I thought I was rid of him, but he came back looking for me. He seemed to be in some trouble and asked me for money, but I told him had none. Even if I had, I wouldn't give it to him. He ended up hitting me in his anger. I left home, running with all my might, not knowing where I should go or what I should do. The only thing I could think of was to call you."

"Why didn't you call the police?" Theodore asked coldly.

Aurora looked pitifully at him. "So what if I call the police? They'd only detain him for a few days before releasing him. He'll end up coming back to me again. If calling the police helped, there wouldn't be so many women repeatedly subject to domestic abuse."
