Chapter 16
“You are not going anywhere! I will kill that fucker before I allow that to happen.” Jax fumed.
“You take online classes? What about those?” Ice asked.
“How would he know about them? Besides the address they have is still my old home address. I never changed it when I moved. I have no social media accounts. Nothing electronic. The only bills I have are my classes, I buy a prepaid card with cash and pay them online.” Raine explained.
“Ice, get I. T. on it. Fully history on this asshole.” Jax ordered.
“You got it brother.” Ice agreed.
“Baby, don’t worry. You belong with me, and I will protect you with everything I have. I too have resources. So, don’t worry your pretty little head about it.” Jax soothed her.
“Jax, he knows some really questionable people. People you don’t want to mess with. He’d be dirty enough to plant drugs or evidence here, the clubhouse, or any MC property to get you guys in trouble. God, I am so sick to my stomach over this.” Raine cried.
“Listen baby, don’t worry about that. There is no way he can do anything like that at the clubhouse or any of our properties. We have tons of cameras hidden everywhere. And as I said, we too have resources.” Jax assured her.
“I’m just so worried over this.” Raine replied.
“Baby don’t worry. Just let me take care of this for you. OK?” Jax asked.
“Ok, I’ll try.” Raine replied.
Jax made sure Raine had an escort at all times. He had I. T. checking out Marty. All the brothers have been told the situation.
Jax and Raine are at the clubhouse. They are in his office with the rest of the officers. Ice, Steele, Blade, Hunter, MD, and I. T.
“I know we don’t normally allow anyone other than officers in club meetings, but considering this involves Raine, I made an exception to that rule.” Jax explained.
“Raine, I think you know everyone, except for I. T.?” Jax replied.
“Nice to officially meet ya. I know we’ve talked over the phone, but in person is much better.” I. T. grinned. “Sorry it hasn’t been sooner, but kinda been busy.”
“It’s fine. You had a job to do. And nice to meet you too.” Raine replied.
“Ok I. T., you said you had info?” Jax asked.
“Yeah. I tapped into the video feeds at the hotel he’s staying at. Didn’t recognize anyone until he got a visitor last night. I’ve solved the how he found Raine issue.” I. T. Explained.
“How?” Jax asked.
“Actually, a who. Candy.” I. T. replied.
“How the hell did that stupid bitch know about him?” Jax asked.
“I think I know how. Me and Sam were at the bar talking about our upcoming high school reunion. She must have heard us and looked up our school. Maybe she contacted people there? It made sense now what she said to me before I kicked her out.” Raine explained.
“What did she say?” Jax asked.
“She said she had a friend look me up. But I really didn’t give it much thought.” Raine replied.
“This Marty guy is loaded. He does have resources. But he has one major weakness.” I. T. replied.
“Coke.” Raine replied.
“Bingo.” I. T. replied.
“What happened to his dad?” Raine asked.
“Passed away by a massive heart attack about 6 weeks ago.” I. T. replied.
“So basically, I’m screwed.” Raine sighed.
“No! He is not taking you! I promised you; he is never touching you ever again. Not while I’m alive!” Jax growled.
“But Jax, the hell he can bring down on your club could be devastating!” Raine argued.
“We are 100% legal. Not only that, but every member is a decorated veteran. We’ve all served this country. None of us have a criminal background.” Jax explained.
“I feel like I’m living my old nightmare again.” Raine sighed
“Baby, you can go to our room now. We’re just gonna throw around some ideas to take care of the situation. Once we have a plan, I’ll let you know.” Jax replied.
“Ok. I could use a nice hot soak in the tub.” Rained replied.
She left the office and headed to their room for her soak in their tub. Once she was gone the guys started talking.
“Steele, I want you to pay Candy a visit. Make sure she understands the only way she’s left alive, is if she leaves here and goes far away. We don’t hurt women or children, but her I’m willing to make an exception to that rule.” Jax ordered.
“Got it Prez.” Steele replied.
“Alright, what else we need to discuss?” Jax asked.
“Well, I’m pretty sure he had something to do with her mother’s death.” I. T. replied.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Fuck! Anything else?” Jax asked.
“His dad had no history of any kind of heart problems. Now I know massive heart attacks can occur with no warnings or signs, but his dad took care of his health. He had a personal chef that prepared him healthy foods, took vitamins, he even had a professional trainer and exercised regularly.” I. T. explained.
“And why weren’t there any investigations when he died?” Jax asked.
“I’d say the cops or medical examiner are on his payroll.” I. T. replied.
“Fuck me. Bastard is getting away with it to.” Jax growled.
“What about the grandfather? Raine said he was a retired senator? She said he was afraid of him too.” Ice reminded them.
I. T. laughed. “From what intel I could get, he is a mean old S. O. B. He was tough on Marty. But right after the father’s death, Marty had him committed as suicidal. Then he got power of attorney over him.”
“What’s his real mental status?” Ice asked.
“Dude is 76, but I believe he’s of sound mind as you and me. The doctor is on junior’s payroll.” I. T. replied.
“I want all the dirt you can get on the doctor and local police. If they are on junior’s payroll, we can use it against them to turn them to our side. We use their weaknesses against them.” Jax ordered.
“Way ahead of you Prez. Already put out feelers and searches. Just waiting to get it all back to me.” I. T. replied.
“Damn brother you have been at it 24/7!” Jax replied.
“Well, I was getting bored. It’s been a while since I got to go deep web. This is the shit I live for. Digging into lives and outing scum!” I. T. replied.
“Good job brother!” Jax laughed.
“Maybe the grandfather is a link to destroying junior.” Ice mentioned.
“I agree, he may be able to help. Or at least give us some leverage.” Jax agreed.
