Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO By Woody Rain Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Chapter 27 Go on the Business Trip Together
Her face was still a little pale, her eyes in a daze as if she was at a loss.
Kerwin knew the bad things she talked about. He made some investigation once but not in a thorough manner. He never thought that Betty would talk to him about it willingly.
Perhaps, it meant that Betty trusted Kerwin somehow.
Thinking of this, Kerwin felt a bit delighted. He said simply, “No matter what happened to you in the past, you are my wife now.”
Kerwin’s remarks weighed a hundred-ton on Betty’s heart. But she got relaxed finally.
She lowered her head, trying to hold back her tears, and sobbed in a trembling voice, “Thank you,
Kerwin.”
“Thank you for marrying me when I was most desperate.

Thank you for rescuing me when I needed you.
Thank you for giving me a home when I was alone,” Betty said that in her heart.
After drying her hair, Betty went to bed. She fell asleep soon. She was exhausted today.
Kerwin, sitting at her bedside, watched her sleeping soundly and quietly.
Somehow, he felt uncomfortable when he saw Betty being helpless at the Bourland Villa today. The
scene stung him.
He didn’t know why he cared about Betty so much.
But he was just using Betty to go against Old Bruce.
The inexplicable feeling made Kerwin a bit upset. Pondering for a long while, he finally took out his phone and called Peter.
“Peter, investigate Betty’s past,” Kerwin ordered calmly with no emotions in his tone. “I want every single detail of her first love.”
The next day, Betty got up half an hour early and drew up a resignation on her laptop.
She couldn’t work under Jeffrey anymore, whether she was just cowardly or tried to avoid dealing
with him.
But before she could print out her resignation, she suddenly got a call from the hospital.
“Is it Miss White? Well, we found that there were spikes on your mother’s EEG. We guess she might wake up.”
wake up.”
“What?” Betty was elated. “Really? Will she really wake up?”
“Yeah, maybe. But Miss White, don’t get your hopes up.”
“That’s already good news. Doctor, thank you.”
“Well, we’ll try our best, but…” the doctor hesitated. “You know, since there are signs that she’s going to wake up, we will give her different treatments. The expenses…”
Betty froze for an instant. Soon, she reacted and said quickly, “I know, doctor, don’t worry. My mother already has Chicago’s medical insurance, and it can cover most of the expenses. No matter how much I have to pay, I will pay it. Please help her get through this.”
After hanging up, Betty looked at the resignation on her laptop in front of her. She kept silent for a moment and then deleted it.
If she resigned, she couldn’t pay her mother’s medical fees before she found a new job.
She collected her things with a headache and went to work.
There was no escaping the things she had to face.
Kerwin had something to deal with, so he left early. Betty took a taxi to the office after eating alone.
Their magazine recently started a large cooperation project. It was a long-term cooperation with a magazine in Houston. It was said that Jeffrey would go to Houston to negotiate the contract in
person.
After knowing this, Betty was relieved.
She hoped that Jeffrey could leave for a business trip. The less she saw him, the better.
But shortly after she sat down in the office, Nicole, the editor in chief, hurried to her. “Betty, get
ready. You’ll go to Houston with Jeffrey in the afternoon.”
“What?” Betty stood up with shock. “Nicole, I’m a reporter, not Jeffrey’s personal assistant. I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Tell Jeffrey yourself if you have a problem with that. He made it clear that he wanted you to go with him.”
Betty turned pale.
Jeffrey wanted her to go with him?
She thought that Jeffrey would leave her alone since he was getting married. Why was he doing this?
She bit her lip, turned around and walked towards his office.
When she was about to knock on the door, the door opened.
Jeffrey saw her standing outside the door, and then froze for an instant. He put on a cold look. “Betty, what are you doing here? We are leaving soon.”
