CHAPTER 41- ADMISSION FOR SCHOOL
CHAPTER 41- ADMISSION FOR SCHOOL
After the account was made he saved his number in her phone and started teaching her. He showed
her the interface and explained everything to her.
"If you miss me and want to see me all you will have to open the app like this, can you see my name
and photo here... Yes, that is. You click on it and tap this video recording button. You see this one...
Yes! Click on it and wait for me to answer."
Catherine listened to everything he said and nodded that she understood it all but was a little unsure
Ryan got her drawing book and drew the steps to video call. He gave the tablet to her, even though it
was bigger than her hands she still held it firmly. He took out his phone and got up, "I am going out,
follow the steps how I taught you and call me."
She nodded an okay and watched him leave; after Ryan disappeared she opened the tablet and
followed the instructions. The call was successfully placed.
Outside in the garden, Ryan saw his phone ringing, he looked at the caller ID and felt butterflies race
down his stomach. He answered the call to see her face flashing on the screen; he waved her a hi. The
girl's face lit up as he started to laugh and giggle in amusement, she was still unable to believe or
guess how it was working.
The two stared at each other for a while before he hung up and went back inside. "See, this way you
can call me anytime. I will pick you up and keep you company. You won't be alone anymore."
Catherine suddenly hugged him gingerly and pecked on his abdomen, Ryan froze as the place where
she pecked started to burn and tickle at the same time. Her smile was angelic, Ryan felt as if the whole
world was fading away and she was the only thing he could sense.
Even though he was dazed it didn't take long for him to get back to his senses; he blinked and cleared
his throat. He stood up and called out for the housekeeper; after giving her instructions to connect the
tablet with their Wi-Fi and charging it regularly he prepared to leave.
The two boys waved goodbye to Catherine who sent them off hugging the new device.
That night, around 3 of the morning Ryan's phone rang. He looked at the screen with his half hooded
eyes to discover that it was 'Wifey'. He immediately sat up straight and answered the call; on the
screen visible was Catherine in her pyjamas, looking scared and pale.
"Did you have a bad dream again?" He asked in a soft tone, the girl nodded. He caresses her through
the screen and pulled his phone close to his chest, "It's ok, don't be scared. I am here..." He pulled
back and asked her to drink some water before instructing, "Keep the call connected and support it
against the pillow next to you. I will keep you company."
Catherine did as he said, she placed the phone next to her and laid back on the bed. "Good girl," Ryan
said before asking her to pull the blankets and close her eyes. "Good night, Ryan." The girl smiled
through her covers.
Ryan replied, "Good night, sweetheart. Now sleep!" The girl closed her eyes and within few minutes
her breathing became slow and regular indicating that she had slipped into a slumber.
Ryan too laid down with his phone supported against the pillow next to him. Laying there he saw her
sleeping face through the screen, the yellow fairy light which shined in the room illuminated her face.
He kissed the camera and said slowly, "I can't wait to grow up and finally make you mine..."
Weeks passed just like that and the two used to video call each other more often. No matter how busy
or packed he was Ryan would corner every single thing and keep her company if she needed him.
There were even days when he brought her home to play. The parents of the two kids were happy
about the bond they shared.
Even on her birthday which was on the 08th of February Ryan convinced her dad to host a party for
her. The latter never celebrated her birthday, one because he lost his wife that day and two because he
hardly had time to organize one. The little girl, who was unaware that birthdays are even celebrated,
was really happy being cherished and loved.
Since Catherine was 6 years old now her official schooling was supposed to start from now. One
evening Ryan received a call from Catherine, the latter informed him that admissions for the new
academic sessions in school were starting from tomorrow and she was joining the school.
Ryan, for some reason, was conflicted by this sudden news. He had heard many accounts of naive
kids like her being bullied in school, he would definitely not like it if someone was causing trouble or
making her cry. He tried to talk to his father to convince Mr Silva to home school her but the man
refused.
At last, it was Jack who convinced him that it will be alright and she too deserved to make friends. On
the day of admission, Ryan and Jack accompanied the young girl and her nanny for her admission
process. Even though she was admitted to the best school in Barcelona Ryan was still unsure.
The nanny took the little girl in leaving the two boys alone. Ryan was still deep in thought and seeing
this Jack flicked his shoulders, "You are still worrying?" Ryan stayed mum, still deep in thought. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Jack sighed, "What can we do, buddy. We can't go everywhere and protect her, right."
His words fell in the empty corridor and rang a few times in Ryan's ear before he came up with
something. His eyes brightened up, lifting his head he smiled at Jack, "Man, you are a genius!"
Saying this he went back to his seat and waited for the two to come back.
