Chapter 37 Did You Mean It Sincerely?
Chapter 37 Did You Mean It Sincerely?
Allison was too surprised to find her tongue. She had never heard anyone mention that Alexander had
a younger brother.
Judging from his expression, Andrew was not deceiving her. Besides, last time when she met him in
the antique store, she felt that he somewhat looked alike Alexander, especially his brows and eyes.
Seeing she was still in a daze, Andrew didn’t urge her. He reached out his hand and chuckled. “Let’s
make an official introduction to each other, shall we?”
Allison returned to her senses. She smiled at him. “Okay. I’m Allison Gibson. Nice to meet you.”
They shook hands and exchanged a smile with each other. Wondering why, Allison felt as if they were
old friends when looking at him. She didn’t feel any awkwardness or embarrassment. Instead, she felt
they were close.
She recalled the servant’s words to Doreen before lunch and figured out her puzzle. “By the way, why
didn’t you come downstairs to have lunch with us together?” she asked.
“I like quiet and peace,” Andrew answered with a smile, a bitterness flashed through his face. “Besides,
Alexander doesn’t like me...”
Allison was taken aback again. She didn’t expect to get such an answer. She wanted to continue
asking about the reason but she didn’t think it would be appropriate, so she swallowed back the words.
Pausing for a moment, Andrew looked up her and asked her bitterly with hesitation, “How about you?
Do you also dislike me?”
“Of course not!” Allison didn’t hesitate. She shook her head subconsciously. “You are a nice man.
Otherwise how would you give me the pen you liked the other day? I bought that pen for my father and
he loved it. I really should thank you for that!”
Hearing her words, Andrew suddenly had no gloomy and melancholy look on his face any longer. His
lips curled into a smile, looking like a bright young man. “If you really want to thank me, why don’t you
help me go downstairs? I want to go to the yard and sit in the sun.”
Without any hesitation, Allison said, “No problem!” She walked to Andrew’s back and held the handles
of his wheelchair, pushing him down along the slope beside the stairs. The slope was obviously
designed especially for the wheelchair. The wheels and rail tracks fit well, so even without her push,
Andrew could get downstairs steadily.
Allison didn’t think that much. She just slowly pushed him downstairs while chitchatting with him.
Andrew laughed loudly. He could always catch up with her topics and extend them. They had a lot of This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
things in common to talk about.
After they got downstairs, Allison noticed that a servant looked at them in a weird way not far away,
panic flashing through that servant’s face. Before she understood what had happened, she raised her
head and saw Alexander standing at the door of the balcony, staring at them afar. The gleam of light in
his eyes was icily cold and scared Allison.
Right then, Andrew looked back at her and said with a slight smile, “Alice, thanks. I can handle it myself
now.”
Allison panicked. She answered him with a nasal sound and walked to Alexander. Recalling that
Andrew said Alexander disliked him earlier and seeing Alexander’s look now, she felt more uneasy.
Walking to the man, she asked softly, “Have you done with your company business?”
“Ehn.” Alexander answered her coldly, turned around, and walked towards the entrance without any
hesitation.
Allison was stunned for a second. Seeing that he was about to walked out of the entrance, she
suddenly came back to her senses and hurried to catch up with him.
She trotted all the way and followed him to the small path in the yard. Reaching out her hand, she
grabbed the man’s arm to stop him. “We haven’t said farewell to Grandma. Is it appropriate to leave
like this...”
“No need,” Alexander uttered two words coldly, still kept moving forward. Allison had no choice but
walked out of the yard with him. Then she rushed to get into the car.
She could tell that Alexander was angry and it was serious.
Bernard, who was bored while standing next to the car, opened the door in a hurry and got in the
driver’s seat. He asked, “Mr. Parker, where are we going?”
With a gloomy face, Alexander said, “Back to my villa.”
Sitting aside, Allison dared not to utter a peep. After a long while, when the car had been driving for a
while, she plucked up her courage and asked, “Did I do anything wrong?”
Alexander answered icily, “No.” It was obvious a lie. He didn’t even want to make a perfunctory effort
for it or fake it.
Allison was helpless for a while, knowing that even if she kept asking, Alexander wouldn’t give her any
answer. She simply shut up.
They didn’t talk again all the way. The ambience in the car was extremely awkward. Even Bernard
secretly observed them from the rear-view mirror from time to time, daring not to take a heave breath.
Finally the car arrived at the gate of the courtyard. As soon as the car stopped steadily, Alexander
pushed the door open and got off. He walked to the villa.
Allison heaved a sigh slightly. She couldn’t understand why Alexander disliked Andrew so much. With
questions and curiosity in her heart, she didn’t feel comfortable at all. Hence, she chased Alexander all
the way to the second floor.
Seeing the man was about to walk into the study, Allison fastened her pace. She trotted to him and
stopped him. “Wait a minute!”
Seeing the woman blocking his way, Alexander didn’t say anything with a frown.
Allison took a deep breath and asked seriously, “What on earth did I do wrong? Can you tell me?”
With a deeper frown, Alexander didn’t answer.
“Is it because of Andrew?” Allison asked, clenching her fists to pluck up her courage. “I heard that you
dislike him very much.”
Alexander’s face darkened immediately. In a few seconds, he shot out his hands and pressed Allison’s
shoulders towards to the wall. Coldness flashing through in his eyes, he said, “Allison Gibson, don’t you
think you’ve crossed the line?”
Andrew was a member of the Parker family. Whether he liked or disliked him, she didn’t have rights to
ask.
Allison took a deep breath, paused a bit, and said, stressing each syllable, “I am your wife.”
Alexander’s face became colder. “You don’t need to know so much.”
“Why not?” Allison felt upset somehow. She didn’t want to give in at this moment. Instead, she wanted
to make it clear. Reaching out her hand, she grabbed the man’s wrist, saying seriously, “I’m the person
you can trust. If you don’t want to tell others, you can tell me. Let me be your tree hole to keep your
secrets. What do you think?”
After getting along with him in recently few days, she realized that Alexander wasn’t a bad man, so she
wanted to do something for him.
A trace of surprise flashed through his eyes. But next second, he curled up his lips to form a sneer,
pressed her against the wall, and approached her slowly. “Why should I trust you?”
Hearing his question, Allison became anxious. Biting her lower lip, she didn’t know how to answer his
question. Under her gazed, she slowly blushed. “Because... I’m your wife. Isn’t it enough?”
Alexander’s eyes sparkled. “Did you mean it sincerely?”
Allison’s heart hammered. She looked away subconsciously to avoid his eye contact. Suddenly her
chin was pinched, and she had to look at him in the eye.
Realizing that she couldn’t avoid it any longer, Allison took a deep breath, bit her lower lip, and nodded.
“Yes...”
She had only one ex-boyfriend. After breaking up with Julius, she didn’t have chance to fall in love with
another man. Hence, she didn’t know much about the way getting along with a man. However, during
the past few days, she felt that Alexander was good to her, so she also wanted him well.
As soon as she finished her words, she found that Alexander’s expression changed slightly. Suddenly
she only saw shadow and her lips were covered by something warm and soft.
At that moment, Allison felt her blood boiling. She gaped. Alexander was kissing her.
