AERIS could hear the sounds of her heavy breathing echoing through the woods as she chased after her schoolmates, who were also bullies. She knew it might not be the smartest decision to confront them since they were different from her in more ways than one. Not only were they werewolves, but their abilities were not to be underestimated either.

However, she couldn't just ignore them. After all, they had taken her bag with all her books and notes, and she needed those to pass her classes. So, despite the risks, she continued to chase after them.

"H-hey! Give that back!" She huffed and puffed, never giving up on her attempt to catch up to them. But no matter how she looked at it-it was clear that she had no chance of outrunning them. "You despicable bullies! You are well aware that this is illegal. I will not hesitate to report your actions to the King and Queen when I have the chance!"

The boys burst into laughter as they ran. One of them said "As if that's easy!" while another boy replied, "Oh please, no one will believe you!"

Aeris squeezed her hand into a tight fist, feeling her throat become dry as she forced herself to stop running. She leaned over and placed her hands on her knees, trying to take deep breaths and calm herself down.

But instead of finding peace, she began to panic at the realization that she had already entered the forest-a place where humans like herself were not allowed due to the rogues.

"Fuck," She bit her lip. She was so focused on chasing them that she didn't realize they entered the forest. She straightened her posture and looked at her front, but her three bullies were no longer anywhere to be found. "Should I just go back?" She mumbled to herself, glancing around the dense forest with unease.

She was well aware that putting her life in danger was not a wise choice, but she couldn't bear the thought of losing her precious books and notes. After all, she was already in her fourth year of studies. And to make matters worse, she had an exam coming up tomorrow, making it essential that she didn't lose any of the materials she needed to pass it.

"Ugh, whatever. It's still early anyway." She convinced herself and kept running, her heart racing from the combination of

Despite the laws made by the Alpha King and Luna Queen of Verdentia to promote peaceful coexistence between werewolves and humans, some students in their university still found ways to break these rules without facing the consequences.

This was especially true for werewolf students who felt they could get away with anything just because their family had connections and influence.

After a few more minutes of running, Aeris finally caught sight of her bag. However, it was hanging on the branch of a tree, causing her to curse under her breath before making her way towards it.

"Fuck those bastards! Ugh!" She stomped her feet on the ground, then took a deep breath to steady herself before removing her shoes and rubbing her palms together. She knew she had to climb the tree quickly; the sun was almost setting, and she needed to get out of the forest before it got dark. If she didn't, there would be

for her

"Come on," she pushed herself, her hand trembling as she reached for her bag while walking on the tree branch. Her arm was numb from the strenuous effort she had put in. "Just a little more." Once she grasped the strap of her bag, she carefully took it and sighed a breath of relief when she finally got it off.

As she began to climb down the tree, she heard a rustling sound coming from the bushes nearby. She froze, her heart racing as she scanned her surroundings for any signs of danger.

When she didn't see anything, she let out another sigh of relief and continued her descent. However, jast as her feet touched the ground, she felt a sharp pain in her ankle and stumbled forward. 11:02 Wed, Dec 4 GG

Panic set in as she realized that she must have pushed herself too hard from all the running and climbing the tree. She cursed under her breath and looked around frantically before taking her shoes and putting them inside her bag. She then began walking, every step she inade felt like she had a thousand knives stabbing her ankles.

Still, despite the struggle, she kept walking while limping, the sky getting darker with every passing second. And with how slow and tired she was, it wasn't long before the moon rose high above her head. With that, she started shaking in fear, unable to stop walking even when she felt her vision blurred.

But then, a loud rustling sound caught her attention. It was coming from behind her so, she slowly turned around, only to come face to face with a large wolf standing on its hind legs.

Aeris froze, her mind racing as she tried to think of what to do. She knew that werewolves could shift into their wolf form at will, but she had never seen one up close before.

The wolf sniffed the air, its sharp blue eyes fixed on Aeris. She could feel the fear creeping up her spine, but she refused to back down. She couldn't give in to her fear now; she needed to find a way out and get back to safety.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

With shaky hands, she reached for her bag and pulled it closer to her body. The wolf growled lowly, its lips curling back to reveal its sharp teeth.

"I-it's fine, Aeris. You know basic self-defense." She mumbled under her breath, trying to convince herself that she could defend herself against the rogue. Yet, deep down, she knew that there was little chance of making it out of this forest alive. The thought alone brought tears to her eyes and caused her body to tremble with fear.

The wolf snarled again, baring its fangs.

"Nope. Nope. Nuh uh, don't look at me like that." She shuddered, backing away slowly as the wolf came closer to her. "Please don't eat me. I-I'm not tasty!"

As soon as she finished her sentence, a sudden laugh erupted from behind her. Startled and afraid, she turned her head to see the source of the noise.

And she saw... a man? A very tall man who was wearing a cloak. It was already dark, and the moon did little to illuminate the area because of the massive trees blocking its light. As a result, Aeris was unable to get a clear view of the man's face, but based on his size, she guessed that he was probably around 6'3-and perhaps an alpha blood.

"W-who-" Aeris wasn't able to finish her sentence when the man behind her suddenly covered her eyes with one hand.

She gasped as she felt an impact in front of her, and heard a whimper. It was clear that a rogue was attacking her, and the man behind her had shielded her from their attack.

He then sighed and she felt him move, as if he had thrown away the other rogue's body. Slowly, he removed his hand from her eyes and saw the wolf earlier, bleeding and lifeless.

The realization that she was safe made her legs weak. All of a sudden, she felt herself collapsing, but even before she hit the ground, she was already wrapped in a strong pair of arms.

"This is why I hate humans, they're fucking weak," the man muttered before lifting Aeris and putting her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"H-hey! W-where are you going to take me?" she asked, trying to wriggle free, but it was just draining her energy more. "Let me go!"

"Are you sure? I'm really going to leave you here, alone. You can die all by yourself if you want." he answered in a cold voice, continuing to walk through the thick woods.

Aeris bit her lip and stopped struggling, completely giving in despite the uncomfortable position she was in. After all, this man had just saved her.

"N-no, please take me out of here. I still need to review for the exam tomorrow," she said, and the man couldn't help but smirk, amused at how this woman could still think about exams when she had just almost died.

Once they made it out of the woods, the mysterious man placed her feet on the ground. He then lowered his hood to ensure that she wouldn't recognize his face.

"All right then."

Without warning, he turned, and Aeries impulsively grabbed his hand, feeling a strange energy shoot through her palm. She was taken aback but quickly regained her senses when the man forcefully removed his hand and glared at her with cold eyes. His golden irises shone from under the hood of his cloak-it sent shivers down her spine.

"Don't touch me," He let out a low, menacing growl and Aeries instinctively took a step back, watching as the man retreated into the forest and disappeared from her view.

As he vanished, she glanced down at her palm, trying to make sense of the strange feeling that lingered there when she touched his hand.
