Chapter 20
“What’s the point? She likes me too.” Alexander replied… holding his head up very high in front of Alpha Lian.
Lian grabbed him by the collar and pinned him to the wall. Alexander did nothing but laugh mockingly. He didn’t struggle to free himself… not until Lian compressed his neck.
Lian swore inwardly as he squeezed Alexander’s neck and one could tell from the look on his face that he was enraged.
“Lian!” Someone called. Lian looked sideways and realized it was leaving him to cough his lungs out, then he started walking away steadily.
“Hey are you okay?” Mia rushed to Alexander, who was apparently in pain.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

“So this case will be wrapped up?” Shane arched his brow.
“That’s it. Record it as an accident.” Lian said nonchalantly.
“Lian! We all know it wasn’t an accident. That thing was fucking planned.” Shane yelled.
“Yeah.. it was planned and so what? There are no solid proofs or evidences that it was an accident so what else ?” Lian retorted.
“But you shouldn’t walk over the case so easily… We are supposed to find a way to get the culprit!” Shane shouted again.
Lian banged the table. “Who’s the alpha here? I believe I still have the final say over everything that goes on in this school pack so how dare you question me!” Lian growled. It was obvious that he was furious.
“Guys guys… shouting won’t solve the puzzle. Lian you can’t just call it off without resolving it.” Marlin said.
“Who said I can’t?” Lian scoffed.
“That’s because this is not the first time this is happening.” Marlin said.
Lian arched a brow. “What do you mean?”
“The red stone case..” Marlin said and the tense atmosphere became calm.

Lian drove for hours before he got to the old fashioned castle, which was outside town.
He was going to see Samara, the legendary witch who had lived for centuries and possessed many powers.
Luckily for him, she was in. A tall, slender, fair skinned woman, sitting with so much graceful aura at the head sofa in the spacious and huge living room, with her heavy made-up face.
Her thick, black eye lined eyes and the wine coloured lipstick she applied made her look much like a malicious wench.
“What brings the alpha to my abode?” She asked, without sparing him a glance.
“Offer me a seat.. at least.” Lian said, ignoring her question.
“My bad… have your seat.”
After sitting opposite her, he started. “It was you in that granny’s body right?” Lian straight to the point.
“My disguise ability must be fading away…” She said with a slight smile, as she stared at the painted nails she adored.
” ‘Su adversarios son cerca’… My enemies are near?” Lian questioned, looking quite bewildered.
“So you know… much nearer than you think.” Samara said with a smirk.
“What do they want?” Lian asked, with so much curiosity.
“You do know what they want.” She said simply.
Lian went deep in thought for a while, then asked again. “Who’s behind this?”
Samara stretched out her hand as if she wanted to collect something, then a glass of champagne appeared.
She took a sip and then smiled broadly…. “Giovanni.”
Lian knew who it was. Giovanni, the old, merciless Lord of a rogue pack. He collected destructive wolves and made them his people. He has taken over many weak packs and added them to his own pack. ‘I get it now… he’s after my pack.’ Lian thought.
He stood up and dropped some pearls on the ceramic – made plate that was at the middle of the center table.
“I’ll leave now.” He announced and turned to leave.
“This will be so much fun.” Samara said and started laughing hysterically. This made Lian to halt in his steps. He turned to her. “What?”
Samara stopped laughing immediately and stared directly into his eyes.
“The fight is not yours only.” She replied and took a sip of the champagne again. “You think the sacred stone case and the suicide case is ordinary… don’t you?” She asked, this time with a mixed expression of seriousness and mischief.

Lian rushed into Marlin’s house, hoping he would meet him there. Luckily enough, he met both Shane and Marlin there. They were playing video games.
“Guys, we have more work to do than playing games.” Lian scolded.
“Work? What’s that?” Shane arched a brow angrily.
“Listen, I take back every word I said earlier. The red stone and the suicide case, it’s actually not ordinary.” Lian said.
“You know that already.” Marlin said.
“No, this is extremely different from what we knew. The cases were actually signals.”
“From who?” Marlin asked as curiosity started eating him up. Shane wasn’t left out too.
“Giovanni?”
“What?!” Shane and Marlin exclaimed at the same time. “That Old dude?”
“Yeah.. means his guys are much closer than we think. You two, split up and search the attempted suicide area, and also the forest path that leads to the sacred stone’s cave. I’ll go see the victims and try getting into their heads, I need to look into their memories.”
Shane and Marlin tossed aside the PS they were holding. “On it.”
‘Letting some old geezer take my pack into captivity? That’s not going to happen.’

“My lord, I’ve committed a grave sin and deserve to die.” A subject begged as he knelt on floor and his head bowed.
“Then just die.” Giovanni’s deep voice echoed through the throne room, even though his subjects were in there.
“My lord, have mercy on your servant.” The subject cried.
“You betrayed the great Giovanni and you beg for mercy? Fine, i’ll pass a merciful judgement.” Giovanni said, with creeped some of the subjects out. He probably meant the opposite of what he said.
“Thank you so much my lord.”
Giovanni stretched his hand out to his right hand man and the latter placed on his hand a shiny, sharp silver sword.
Giovanni stood up from his throne and walked down the aisle, dragging
the tip of the sword on the floor.
He stopped right in front of the subject and gave him an affectionate look, which changed to an evil expression the next second.
He pierced the man’s heart with the sword and the sword could be seen at the man’s back.
His blood splashed everywhere, including Giovanni’s regalia. Giovanni twisted the sword while it was still stuck in the man’s chest, making the man growl loudly in pain.
He pulled out the sword and the man gave up the ghost immediately, with blood oozing out continuously.
Giovanni threw the sword on the floor. “Get the maids to prepare me a new apparel and throw him in a forest. I bet the vultures crave food.”
