Chapter Five
Chapter Five
Corinna
Darkest fades in and out as I blink my eyes harshly, trying to fight off the groggy feeling that was
lingering in me. Lifting my head, I look around to see I'm in a dimly lit dirty cell. My gaze darts to my
hands that are being held above my head by metal cuffs that are chained and bolted to the stone wall, I
notice there are two empty shackles bolted to the corner to my right and the corner straight in front of
me.
Irritation instantly sparks within me as I realise the situation I'm in. Roughly I begin to pull at my chains,
I try over and over again but growl loudly glaring at the rusty things when they don't budge.
My head snaps towards the door when I hear three sets of heavy footsteps approaching, within
seconds the heavy cell door is swung open. I recognise the Gamma from before standing beside
another large muscular light brown haired man who I had no doubt was the Beta, another man dressed
in what seemed like a guards uniform stood beside them, shoving a blonde woman who had her grey
streaked hair covering her face.
She had chains on her hands that tied around her malnourished waist, then linked in with the chains on
her feet. The guard roughly grabbed the woman's arm and tossed her to the ground, it only took him
seconds to have the chains on her feet removed and her hands bolted to the wall.
" So this is the almighty Hybrid then? " The beta speaks, his dark brown almost black eyes stare at me.
" Not so mighty is she? " The gamma laughs.
" I ripped your pack members heart out with my bare fucking hand and I'll do the same to you, you
fucking prick. " I seethe.
A series of furious growls echo through the cell, my statement obviously getting to all three men. The
guard marches over to me and roughly pushes my head into the wall behind me, I bite down onto the
inside of my cheeks to stop any sound of being in pain cross my lips. I won't give him the satisfaction.
" How about we rip your little friend to pieces right in front of your eyes rogue! " The guard shouts
through his teeth, while taking a handful of my hair into his fist.
Fire bursts across my scalp but I only glare into the guards dark blue eyes. Before I can fully process
his words screams, pleas and sobs tear through my ears. It doesn't take long for two other guards to
appear holding onto either side of a sobbing Gia who tries desperately to fight against their hold. They
also chain her up to the wall.
" Gia! " I struggle against the guards hold on me and the chains that have me bound.
The men surrounding us smirk at me, a threatening growl escapes me. " Don't you fucking touch her. "
I'll be the first to admit that over the years my morals have become extremely messed up and
confusing, I've become vicious, but the one thing I can say is that I never go after innocent people and I
protect when I can.
One of the guard slaps Gia hard across the face making me roar in anger, that only get my head
smashed off the wall again. The guards walk out laughing along with a smirking Gamma and Beta, my
adrenaline fades and I now feel the throbbing shooting through the back of my head, I manage to move
my hand enough in my chains to feel the wetness of blood matted in my hair.
" Are you okay? " Gia questioned from her corner of the cell.
" yeah, yeah I'm fine Gia. " I lie. " How did you end up here? "
" I.. I was hiding in a bush when they came and I seen them passing with you, you were unconscious. I
wanted to help you, so I followed them you know? I was doing pretty well... but then they caught me. "
she mumbles.
A harsh sigh leaves my lips before I can stop it. " You should have ran! How did you think for a second
this would end up?! You're human ! "
A harsh cough comes from the older woman, who had been silent since they put her here leading me
to forget about her existence. She goes back to her quiet state after a short coughing fit, making it
seem she might be ill from the cold and damp conditions of the cells which leads me to wonder how
long they've had her trapped in here.
Her thin, underfed body is so pale she looks white causing me to believe she hasn't seen even a hint of Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
sun in years. She's littered with bruises and irritated red lumps on random parts of her body, most likely
from injections.
I turn my attention back to Gia, who looks extremely upset. " I'm sorry " she whispers.
" No I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do about any of it now. I'm just worried about you. " I admit.
After a while Gia falls asleep, the woman in the corner is either asleep too or is just very good at
keeping quiet, I on the other hand am forcing myself to stay awake due to the head injury that guard so
nicely inflicted.
My head hangs heavily and I have to force my eyes open every couple of seconds. My eyes begin to
close once again, I'm slowly sinking into darkness from pure exhaustion but the sound of footsteps jolts
me back out of it with a sharp inhale.
" Gia! " I whisper.
No response.
" Gia! " I repeat, this time louder.
Nothing.
" GIA! " I snap harshly.
I watch intently as her head begins to lift. " what? " she mumbles.
" wake up. " I demand. " Someone is coming, WAKE UP. "
Panic flashes across her face and any sign of sleep disappears, it's now that I notice the bruise on her
cheek from where that guard hit her. My chest rumbles with anger but I'm snapped out of it when the
heavy door of the cell opens once more. A six foot very built man with dark auburn hair and eyes that
nearly look teal walks into the cell, his aura is strong, demanding respect. Instantly I know he's the
alpha.
" Mate. " He purrs, his teal eyes glowing.
