Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 428

Cameron slumped on the couch, his eyes reflecting an endless abyss of darkness. He couldn't quite understand his own heart. Even though he knew Greta was deeply flawed and didn't deserve his love, the thought of her being humiliated and hurt was something he just couldn't shake off.

Greta had been in the bathroom for quite a while and hadn't come out. By the time Cameron felt something was off, it was already too late.

When he burst through the bathroom door, he found Greta had tried to end her life by slashing her wrists. Her pale, frail hand lay over the bathtub's edge, with droplets of bright red blood falling steadily to the floor.

Cameron's eyes widened in shock before he sprang into action. Grabbing a towel, he wrapped it around her and carried her to his car, racing to the hospital with his heart in his throat.

That night, Greta lay in the emergency room, while Cameron endured a night of torment outside, reflecting on their once fiery love and how it had come to this heartbreaking point. Despite his anger towards her, he didn't want her dead.

Luckily, Greta's wounds weren't too deep, and the doctors managed to save her. She came to later on.

Cameron, exhausted and disheveled, sat by her bed. When she opened her eyes, his were red-rimmed as he asked, "Why would you do something like this?"

Greta was a picture of utter defeat, "I know you've discovered the secret behind Timeless Cycle. You blame me for Nellie and Nina's deaths. Cameron, I can't imagine you forgiving me in this lifetime. My health has always been fragile, and loving you was my only reason to hold on. Now that your love is gone, there's no point in me continuing to suffer in this world."

Her eyelashes fluttered as she continued, "Cameron, I know you're in pain. But do you understand mine? Nathalie was born for revenge. She wants me to die alone, my body left to rot. I had hoped you'd protect me, so I could at least have some peace in my later years. But now, your love is gone and my parents are swayed by Nathalie, they've left me too. Is there any reason for me to keep living in this loneliness?"

Cameron's gaze softened with a mix

of emotions. "Greta, we owe this to Nathalie. Let's spend our lives. making amends. Once we've paid our dues in this life, maybe we can find peace in the next."

Greta's eyes filled with tears, her voice urgent, "I'm ready to atone, even if it costs me my life. But look at what she's done! Do you know what those kidnappers did tome?"

Cameron hesitated, "But the police cleared Nathalie, didn't they? She didn't have the chance to do it."novelbin

Greta erupted, "How can you still defend her? Hasn't she caused us enough pain? She orchestrated the kidnapping and made sure she

wouldn't get caught. Ca

Cameron replied, "I'll wait for the police to finish their investigation."

Frustrated, Greta said, "Just leave. You don't need to worry about me anymore."

Cameron sighed softly, "Get some rest. I'll come check on you another day."

He left quietly, trying not to disturb her further.

Greta's eyes burned with a fierce determination, "Nathalie, I'm gonna bring you down no matter what."

Back at home, Nathalie wasted no time in selling off her properties in the Capital. She sold the Brown family's ancestral home and her own duplex apartment.
