Chapter 172
Throughout the whole day, Juliet was in an extremely excited mood, even more thrilled than getting married. As a result, after Brantley drove her home, she tossed and turned in bed for a good while, unable to sleep. Later on, in an attempt to burn off some energy, she decided to play until she felt totally drained, hoping she might just doze off afterward.
While playing, she suddenly wanted to share her joy with her bestie, Mikayla, and tell her to stop worrying about that problem. She dialed her up instantly, only to find that Mikayla wasn't picking up after what seemed like ages of ringing. When the call went to voicemail, Juliet mischievously dialed again.
As the phone rang and Mikayla continued to ignore her call, Juliet's mind wandered through countless scenarios, wondering if Mikayla was too exhausted from messing around with Carlos to even pick up. Well, in this day and age with so much adult content online, being mature early seemed strangely normal.
After setting a time to meet with Mikayla, Juliet tucked her phone back into her bag. People around her were having a blast, but Juliet decided it was time to head back home soon. Even though Brantley didn't explicitly stop her from going to clubs, she figured it was best not to stay out too late, considering she did have a boyfriend, after all.
Just as she turned around, someone tapped her from behind, startling her. Taking a look, Juliet was absolutely annoyed to the point of crumbling. 'Even lottery winners don't have my luck. Meeting this jinx twice in one day? Luck couldn't get any worse than this,' she thought.
"Juliet, what are you doing here all by yourself? Did your boyfriend dump you or something?" Kashton smirked with his charming eyes. "Kashton, you piece of work. Shut up if you don't know how to properly greet people. Messing around with girls every day, you should be careful not to catch something one day!" Juliet shouted.
She thought, 'Every time I saw Kashton, nothing good happens, and now he has the guts to curse my relationship with Brantley! I don't want to come to Septem Nightclub ever again.'
"Listen to me, Juliet, that boyfriend of yours isn't the right one for you." Even if it's the most serious advice, coming from Kashton's mouth, it just sounded flirtatious.
"Are you saying he's actually right for you? Is that a massive joke?" Juliet retorted.
'Elvis acted like a weirdo already, and now, Kashton told me I should break up with Brantley. I'm starting to wonder if Kashton is bored with women and interested in men,' Juliet mused.
Kashton shook his head in denial, showing a glint of mischief in his beautiful eyes. "He's not my type."
Just finished their chat, a charming lady swaggered by. Lazy in her ways, her curly hair cascaded down to her waist. Her captivating eyes and red lips were quite the scene-stealers. When she reached Kashton and Juliet, she stopped and called out seductively, "Hey Kashton, long time no see."
Kashton's lips curled in a smug smile. "Elvis isn't here, Anna. Are you here to see me?"
"Kashton, you're such a jokester. This time, Elvis invited me." Anna brushed her curly locks back alluringly. The scent of her perfume was strong, making Juliet sneeze involuntarily. 'Goodness, did she spray a whole bottle of perfume?' Juliet inquired inwardly.
"Elvis invited you?" Kashton couldn't believe his ears, thinking the nightclub music had deafened him. 'How could Elvis possibly call Anna when he usually avoids her like the plague?' Kashton wondered.
"Why would I lie, Kashton?" Anna fluttered her eyelashes flirtatiously. "I must go. Elvis told me to get here on time."
Beneath the shifting colorful lights, Anna sashayed off, leaving Kashton watching as her slim waist and voluptuous hips swayed like a serpent.
"I don't believe you." Kashton waved his hand dismissively, not buying Anna's words one bit.
Then Kashton caught a glimpse of Juliet. Her eyes glued to Anna's figure with a sly look like a man eyeing a woman. Kashton shielded Juliet's view with his palm. "I find you even more lecherous than us men."
Juliet disdainfully glared at Kashton. "Can't a woman appreciate another woman? When a woman sees a beauty, she can also be mesmerized, you know?"
Kashton had to admit that when it came to arguing with twisted logic, she was even better than him.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
"Oh, by the way, who's that lady?" Juliet nudged Kashton, curious.
"She's Elvis' admirer, Anna. Despite being rejected by Elvis multiple times, she's still trying. She's been out of the scene for a while, but now she's back," Kashton sneered.
"Even that distant weirdo has an admirer?" Juliet looked shocked, as if she had just discovered a new pl.
"Don't underestimate Elvis. Among
us three, Carlos is the
crowd-pleaser. That kind of aloof aura on him is what women love the most. Besides, Elvis may be cold but aren't there women who like to play with fire?" Kashton cheerfully explained, completely forgetting that he wanted to set up Elvis and Juliet yesterday.
Juliet threw a punch, not hitting Kashton hard, but it did help release some pent-up frustration. "So you threw me to fire yesterday?" Although she and Elvis had nothing going on, Kashton's behavior was truly hical. She was nothing like a moth craving for fire. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.
Juliet turned around, ready to leave. She really didn't want to stay with Kashton anymore. Unexpectedly, she saw Anna and Elvis walking out of the elevator, with Elvis's follower, Liam, following behind.
Elvis still had his icy demeanor, while Anna kept smiling, casting bewitching glances towards Elvis, as if afraid to miss this chance to captivate his soul.
'If Elvis were to be attracted to that type, he must be blind,' Juliet thought. But the next moment, Anna linked her arm with Elvis, and Elvis did not push her away.
Juliet felt like her luck had taken a
turn for the worse recently. She mused, 'Isn't a woman's intuition supposed to be accurate? I seriously doubt if I'm a woman. Why is my intuition so off? Just as I thought something, the next second, the opposite happened. Elvis's action is basically an approval, showing initial interest in Anna.'
Of course, Juliet was not jealous or anything. She just thought that Elvis couldn't possibly be interested in Anna, especially when she had that perfume. Standing next to her made Juliet want to cover her nose. Juliet wondered what Elvis was up to. Could it be that he, too, wanted to have some fun?
Even Kashton standing behind Juliet found it unbelievable. Elvis wouldn't easily let anyone touch his body, especially women, and he wouldn't touch women either. Could it be that the words he said to Elvis yesterday actually got through to him?
