Richest Mogul 1276
Chapter 1276
Skylar found Rosa’s ward and gently knocked twice on the door. From inside, Rosa’s voice called out, “Come in.”
As Skylar pushed the door open and stepped inside, Rosa didn’t bother to look up. She was glued to her phone and didn’t notice who had entered.
“Is it normal for doctors and nurses to check in so late at night?” Rosa asked impatiently, still not glancing up. She didn’t even bother looking at who walked in when she asked the question.
She had a slight disdain for the hospital in Jipsburg. Though her ovarian cyst surgery was minor, she didn’t fully trust the doctors there. She only hoped nothing would go wrong.
This hospital didn’t deserve to operate if such a simple procedure was mishandled. After the surgery, she planned to assess her recovery. If it didn’t go well, she would blame it on the doctor’s incompetence and expose the situation to the media.
As Rosa mulled over these thoughts, she suddenly sensed something was off in the room. She looked up. Her expression changed abruptly when she saw that it was Skylar and not the doctor. “What are you doing here?” she exclaimed.
“I have a few questions for you,” Skylar replied.
In Rosa’s eyes, Skylar looked sharp and intense, causing her to feel an unsettling mix of fear and confusion.
“Questions?” She frowned.
“Shouldn’t it be the other way around? I have plenty of questions for you. Why do you keep appearing in front of Ned? Are you trying to seduce him? And what about that guy in the video call who insulted me on your behalf? Is he your boyfriend or not? Also, what do you want from me?”
Suddenly relieved that Ned was no longer in the hospital, Rosa thought that Skylar might have taken the opportunity to flirt with him right in front of her.
Ignoring Rosa’s barrage of questions, Skylar said, “I will answer those questions later. But right now, I need you to answer one. Did Ned get into an accident?”
Rosa instinctively opened her mouth to nod in agreement. But then, her guard kicked in, and she hesitated.
Her gaze flickered a bit. “Car accident? Are you curing Ned? Ned has always been perfectly fine. He’s had good luck and has never been in a car accident.
“He’s only witnessed others getting into accidents. I’m tired now and have surgery tomorrow, so please leave me alone and let me rest.”
Seeing Rosa’s evasive gaze, Skylar didn’t press the issue. “When you’ve done something you regret, you’ll be haunted by it day and night. Ms. Reese, take care of yourself.”
With that, she turned to leave.
Just as she reached the door, she was suddenly called back by Rosa. “Wait!” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Skylar turned back to look at her. Though she had called out, Rosa hesitated as if unsure whether her unease was due to guilt or something else, remaining silent for a moment.
Skylar didn’t rush her and simply waited at the door.
“Don’t go spreading rumors in front of Ned! No, I mean, don’t seek him out. I’m his fiancée, and I don’t want you near him,” Rosa said, biting her lip as she began to issue her warning.
Skylar glanced back at Rosa, said nothing, and quietly walked out the door.
Rosa stared at the closed door, feeling a sudden wave of panic. She wondered what Skylar meant when she mentioned Ned being in a car accident.
She knew all too well that Ned had been in a car accident over three years ago. When he was brought to the hospital after the accident, she sensed something was off.
But she had forced herself to ignore it.
Ever since the accident, Ned had been entirely different – he carried an irresistible allure and displayed remarkable professional capabilities. He was like a completely different person.
Moreover, after the accident, Ned’s vision was suddenly perfect–he didn’t need glasses
anymore.
