After leaving the bedroom, Bailey chose a guest room and entered. She lay down on the soft bedding,

her shoulders trembling slightly, as if tears were silently streaming down her face.

In the end, Eugene died innocently, a victim of injustice.

In the past, she could deceive herself, convincing her mind that it was the Interpol that hindered her,

preventing her from arriving at the hospital on time. Thus, she felt no guilt.

However, upon discovering Artemis's true identity as The Exterminator, the defenses she had built up

in her heart completely crumbled.

Artemis was her lover, and the tragedy he caused was a reflection of her own, an unavoidable burden.

Despite all the complications, she still had to bear this guilt.

Shannon had been providing constant comfort, assuring her that Eugene was not to blame, but Bailey

could no longer deceive herself or those around her.

Beep, beep, beep.

The room was filled with the sound of an incoming call. Instinctively, Bailey reached for her phone and

dialed Shannon's number.

The call connected quickly, but the voice on the other end was not Shannon's. Instead, it was the

innocent voice of a child. "Aunt Bailey, are you looking for my mommy?"

Bailey was momentarily stunned, the term "mommy" leaving her in a daze. It took her a while to realize

that Shannon had adopted a daughter.

She quickly composed herself and, with a light laugh, asked, "Dawn, how have you been lately? How

are your eyes? Have they improved?"

"I'm doing well. Mr. Neyman has found me the best doctor, and I'm currently undergoing conservative

treatment. Once my wounds have healed, I can proceed with the cornea and eyeball transplant

surgery."

Bailey responded warmly, "That's good. Once your wound is completely healed, I'll have your mommy

bring you to Hallsbay. I'll perform the transplant surgery myself. By the way, where is she?"

The sound of laughter echoed through the phone, "Mr. Neyman took Mommy to Mount Sentinel to

watch the sunset; they haven't returned yet. Once they're back, I'll have her call you."

Bailey felt uplifted. The cheerful tone of the young girl indicated that Shannon and Micah were happy

together. Having someone to share life with was a blessing.

Bailey had confidence that Micah, having endured numerous trials, would ensure Shannon's well-being

in the future. Sometimes, a peaceful love, like calm water, could bring happiness.

"Dawn, you could try calling Mr. Neyman 'Daddy'. I believe he would be very happy."

The young girl smiled and responded, "Sure, I'll keep your advice in mind. If there's nothing else, I'll

hang up now. I still have training to do."

"All right, take good care of yourself. Spend more time making your mother laugh; make her happy."

"Understood!"

As the call ended, the clear laughter of the young girl lingered in the air, resembling the sound of a

silver bell.

With a daughter like Dawn by her side, Shannon should be able to gradually overcome her trauma.

Dawn's sensitivity impressed Bailey so much that she was considering the idea of having her own son

marry her. The child whom Shannon held dear, Bailey also wanted to protect for a lifetime.

The most straightforward approach is to let her son marry Dawn and take care of her at home.

In the future, Zayron will take over the leadership of Tarragon. If he marries Dawn, he will undoubtedly

ensure her lifelong protection.

With these thoughts, Bailey found herself chuckling at the expansiveness of her imagination, even

considering her children's marriages. However, there was nothing wrong with indulging in some

beautiful daydreams.

A lovely lady paired with a gentleman is a perfect match. Wouldn't that be nice?

Observing Zayron's growing potential, Bailey was confident that he would stand out among the younger

generation, surpassing his peers in the future.

Her aspiration might just have a chance to come true.

Lost in a medley of insignificant thoughts, Bailey's mind gradually drifted into emptiness. She

unexpectedly slept from morning until evening.

It was only when the butler came to call her that Bailey slowly regained her senses.

Looking at the darkening sky outside, she furrowed her brows and asked, "Where is Mr. Luther? What

has he been doing all day?"

Unaware of any disagreement between them, the butler stated matter-of-factly, "Mr. Luther is currently

meeting with a guest in the study."

A guest?

Bailey looked at the butler with a touch of confusion, her brows furrowing even more. "Everyone

outside believes Mr. Luther is at his own manor. Who could possibly come to visit him? Is it Cameron?"

"It's the eldest son of the Fletcher family from Jadeborough, Mr. Raiden Fletcher."

Raiden? Didn't he go out to sea? How did he come back so quickly?

Struggling, Bailey managed to sit up, and a sudden thought crossed her mind. Her heart tightened, and

she quickly asked, "What shirt was he wearing when he came over?"

"Uh..."

The butler appeared somewhat taken aback, surprise etched on his face as he stared at her with a

peculiar expression. Ms. Bailey is deeply concerned about Mr. Raiden, even asking about his attire.

Could it be that she has developed feelings for him?

"M-Ms. Bailey, considering your impending marriage to Mr. Luther, it would be advisable not to let your

heart be swayed by someone else," the butler cautiously advised.

Let my heart be swayed by someone else?

Bailey paused for a moment, and upon seeing the butler's exaggerated expression, she couldn't help

but burst into laughter. "Just answer the question; no need for theatrics."

The butler responded with a stiff upper lip, "He was wearing a light blue shirt with exquisite

embroidered clouds on the collar."

Bailey reached up to rub her forehead, a tingling sensation spreading over her scalp.

He actually wore the shirt that he stole from me. That guy just loves to cause trouble, doesn't he? But

on second thought, I'm currently in the middle of a fight with Artemis. Even if Raiden wore the shirt I

embroidered, Artemis probably wouldn't dare to find fault with me. If Raiden were to come a few days

later, Artemis and I would have already resolved our misunderstandings. By then, he would surely give

me a hard time about this.

After considering the situation, Bailey acknowledged that Raiden's timing was remarkably well-chosen,

preventing an unnecessary disaster. "All right, I understand. Let them continue. Instruct the kitchen to

prepare some food to be sent up; I'm hungry."

From now on, I can't just sleep carelessly. I'm carrying a child in my belly, and it wouldn't be right to let

the little one go hungry.

In the study room, Raiden occupied the brightest spot, occasionally rolling up his sleeves in an attempt

to catch Artemis' attention.

However, Artemis was deeply focused on figuring out how to comfort his wife, leaving him with no

attention to spare.

After fidgeting around for a bit, Raiden straightforwardly stated, "I came to express my gratitude to

Bailey for the clothes she gave me. This shirt fits me perfectly."

Artemis's hand, holding the wine glass, momentarily paused its swaying motion. The red liquid inside

the glass rippled intensely.

He slowly raised his gaze, directing his focus towards Raiden. The light blue shirt, adorned with

embroidered clouds, presented a striking appearance.

Was it embroidered by Bailey?

"She made it and gave it to you?"

Raiden grinned with pride, lifted his arm, and gave it a shake. Pretending to be surprised, he remarked,

"Mr. Luther, can't you recognize Bailey's craftsmanship and embroidery? Oh, right, Bailey mentioned

this is the first shirt she ever sewed. Now that I'm wearing it, you haven't had the chance to see her

skills. But that's alright; you can experience her second masterpiece."

Artemis tightened his grip on the wine glass, a hint of icy coldness flashing in his eyes. He couldn't

tolerate provocations, especially when it involved Bailey; it was even more unbearable.

"This outfit doesn't quite suit you, Mr. Fletcher, so please take it off. I'll have someone bring you a

better-fitting one."

After he finished speaking, Artemis turned his attention to the door and instructed, "Please escort Mr.

Fletcher to the guest room. Have the butler prepare a few new shirts for him. As for the one he's

wearing now, burn it immediately after he takes it off."
