Chapter 19: Is it Done on Purpose?
Chapter 19: Is it Done on Purpose?
Macy looks up at the position he requires. It’s obvious that he wants her to be next to him. If it’s another
spot, it makes sense, but now it’s the working hour, she doesn’t want others to see that she has a
romantic relationship with Yusef Penn.
She looks down and speaks in a flat tone, “Mr. Penn, I can hear your order here, please tell me.”
Yusef hears and frowns. This woman is exceptionally stubborn.
He doesn’t give up, and points his desk, “Come over and change my coffee.”
Macy looks up and looks at the mug on his right-hand side. She gasps and walks towards slowly.
By the time when she walks to the side of the desk, Yusef grabs her waist not until she can lift the mug.
Macy almost cries. She looks at the door and the windows in panic. The door is closed but a half of the
curtain is open!
If someone walks by the window, he can see what is happening in the room!
Macy keeps a distance from Yusef by pressing her hands on his chest. She says in a low and deep
voice, “Mr. Penn! It’s working hours!”
“Of course. I know.” Yusef doesn’t care what she said but fixates at her with his deep black eyes, “Are
you sure you didn’t do it on purpose?”
While he’s speaking he crosses her chest with his finger.
Macy looks down panicking. She finds a button missing on her blouse, and it reveals a lot…
She covers her hands on her chest and yells nervously, “No! I didn’t!”
The blouse might be opened when she was getting rid of Eliot. She didn’t mean it!
Looking at Yusef’s ambiguous gaze, she doesn’t know how to explain. Her face is blushing.
Yusef lets go of her and looks more serious. He looks aside and says coldly, “Don’t wear this blouse
next time.”
It’s not a suggestion but an order. He says assertively.
Macy pursed her lips and buttons her blouse up quickly and grabs his mug. “I see. Let me make you
some coffee.”
After Macy finishes, she hurries outside. She exhales deeply in relief after she comes out of the office.
It has to say that she underestimates the difficulties of this task. The ten minutes she spent with Yusef
has already makes her out of breath.
Rene showed her around the CEO’s Office, so Macy knows the direction of the pantry, which is specific
for Yusef.
Macy steps inside. The pantry is orderly and comprehensively equipped. Coffee machines, capsule
coffee machines, imported fresh coffee beans and a small wine cabinet. By the window, there is a small
wooden table and two sofas. It is cozy and functional.
Macy wants to pour the coffee out into the sink but she stops for her hesitation.
She forgot to ask what coffee Yusef liked. If she returns to ask, it will reveal her carelessness. Macy
stares at the mugs for seconds and finally cheers herself up and puts her finger into the liquid and
tastes it.
Expresso with sugar.
Macy then pours the coffee.
“Who are you?”
A voice comes from the direction towards the door. Macy turns over and looks in that direction.
It’s a lady in her professional suit; she looks around 20. With a pair of bright smiley eyes, and long hair
that reaches her shoulder, she looks elegant.
Macy is about to answer and the woman comes to her and asks coldly, “Who allowed you to come
here? It is the CEO’s pantry!”
She is a young girl with bad attitude, “Put your mug down and get out! What department are you
working under? You such a shameless slut, are you trying to seduce Mr. Penn?”
Having been scolded consecutively Macy misses the chance to talk. She looks at her badge and
understands who she is.
“CEO Secretary Yolanda Sue.”
She is Yusef’s another secretary. She didn’t expect she would be her co-worker so soon.
“What are you looking at! Didn’t you hear ‘Get Out!’?”
Yolanda notices Macy is staring at her badge and she asks, “What on earth the department do you
belong to? You don’t have a badge. How can you get here?”
Macy did not wear a badge indeed. She arrived this morning and Rene said her badge and entrance
card would be given to her in two days.
“I am the new secretary Macy Downey. Nice to meet you.” Macy smiles at Yolanda Sue and reaches Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
out her hand.
Yolanda freezes for a moment and scans her from head to toe. She realizes that this woman is Macy
Downey, the missy from the Downey’s.
Why is she here and becomes one of her competitors!
Yolanda represses her displeasure and touches Macy slightly, “You are Miss Downey? How come you
work at the Penn’s?”
It seems to be a normal question but it actually conveys contempt. Macy can clearly understand her
despising but she doesn’t burst out but explains softly, “I am nobody, just a normal person. It has been
very lucky for me to get a job at the Penn’s and I cherish this opportunity very much. I hope that Miss
Sue can be more forgiving for the fact that I’m a newbie.”
Macy’s polite etiquette really blows Yolanda away, “We are the same age. Don’t call me Miss Sue, I’m
not used to it. Just call me Yolanda.”
“OK.”
Although they have greeted each other, Yolanda doesn’t plan to make friends with her. She looks at the
mug by the sink coldly and adds, “The first time making coffee for Mr. Penn?”
Macy nods.
“No milk and sugar.” Yolanda takes a glimpse at her and walks out of the pantry.
Macy hesitates for a while and stares at Yolanda for a while.
She just tasted the coffee by herself and there is apparently sugar in it. Even though it may not be
much, there is definitely sugar in it. Why did Yolanda say that?”
Is it because she did it on purpose?
Macy washes the mug and puts the coffee beans into the machine and press the button. She still has
some doubts.
When the coffee is ready, she looks at the sugar cube next to her. Hesitating for a while, she puts two
into the coffee.
She brings the coffee into the CEO’s Office.
She knocks at the door and puts the coffee by Yusef’s right hand side with permission and steps
backwards.
Yusef is reading documents. He talks a sip of the coffee and continues reading without any expression.
Macy observes his movements and makes sure he doesn’t have any complaints about the drink. She
then takes a deep breath in secret.
Yolanda fools her on purpose.
