Farrah was busy with work and glanced up just in time to see the stylish Jack walk past her. He had changed his nose ring again. It shimmered brightly and caught her eyes.

She closed her laptop and made her way to Natasha’s office. She politely knocked on the door before entering the room.

“Ms. Gray, did you call for me?” She smiled softly.

Natasha handed her a document and smiled as she said, “Take this to Mr. Locke for his signature. It’s urgent. Bring it back as soon as he’s signed it. Thank you!”

Farrah was caught off guard and hesitated. She didn’t immediately reach for the document.

There were so many people in the design department. Why did it have to be her? What did she do to deserve this?

Natasha held the document patiently and smiled as she reminded her. “Are you giving up the design opportunity for Enduring Moments? You can look for Mr. Moore if you’re afraid of seeing Mr. Locke. Aren’t you two friends?”

“Ms. Gray”

“Are you going or not?”

“Fine Farrah grabbed the document as if receiving a royal decree. She turned around and marched out of the office. “I’m going!”

Her tone sounded as if she was cursing at someone.

She entered the elevator with the document in her hand. The event of last night replayed relentlessly in her head

The thought of facing him again made her burn with embarrassment.

She had been… quite forward last night. Now that was awkward.

Ugh! She had no idea what came over her then and felt utterly embarrassed to think about it now.

She didn’t dare to delay it any further as she still intended to keep her job. She arrived outside the CEO’s office with a great sense of nervousness.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

“Come in,” the man’s deep and magnetic voice called from inside.

She gently pushed the door and entered. She immediately noticed the tall figure standing by the floor–to- ceiling windows with one hand in his pocket and speaking on the phone.

“This project is critical. There’s no room for any mistakes.” His commanding presence and resolute tone carried a sense of unwavering determination.

Farrah held the document and quietly came to a stop behind him.

She stood about seven feet away from behind him. Her gaze fell on his tall figure as memories of last night flashed in her mind again. It was so painfully awkward!

The call ended rather quickly. Adrian turned around and was stunned when he saw her.

Farrah met his gaze and was about to hand him the document. The office door was suddenly kicked down before she could even speak!

Someone kicked down the door!

Farrah was startled by the loud sound. The two of them turned to look at the door and saw a man stormed in with rage.

Adrian’s expression darkened at the sight of that.

The man looked to be in his 30s and was enraged. Farrah quickly took a few steps back.

Adrian fixed his gaze on him. His dark and sharp eyes were covered with a layer of coldness. “Did a dog eat your manners?”

“Adrian! What’s the meaning of this?” The man’s gaze was fierce. He was enraged. “It’s one thing that you assumed your position ahead of time, and now you’re shaking up the entire company with major personnel changes!”

How did he dare to call him by his name?

Farrah felt that the surrounding air had become stagnant. She had clearly picked the worst possible moment to be here. She took a few steps back again and didn’t even dare to make a sound.

Adrian put his hands in his pockets. His cold gaze fixed on the arrogant man before him. “Aren’t personnel changes a normal part of running a company?”

A hint of disdain flickered in his eyes. “Why are you so worked up?”

“You may not have touched my position, but you’ve dismissed everyone around me! What are you up to?” The man pointed at him furiously. “Face me directly if you’ve got a problem with me!”

“Face you directly?” Adrian sneered. “How about I just fire you?”

really

Farrah could see the man seething. He was practically smoking with rage and clenching his teeth as he pointed at Adrian as if he was about to throw a punch but had no audacity to do so.

She also noticed a subtle shift in Adrian’s icy expression and suddenly felt suffocated.

Adrian furrowed slightly. “Jordan Barret, you…”

“It’s Locke! Jordan Locke!” The man flew in rage and raised his voice to emphasize, “I’ve changed my name to Locke for a long time now!”
