Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 39
Chapter 39 I’m Not Falling In Love With You
“This is a product. Your design should impress the customers.” Adrian was unusually patient and not in a hurry to send her away.
However, Farrah blurted out, “No, I only want to impress you with my design!”
He raised his eyebrows. “Why?” He emphasized again. I’ve told you before. You don’t need to please me. I won’t fall in love with you.”
“What are you thinking?” She was flustered. “Who said anything about falling for you?”
He stared at her as she explained, “I said that because your heart is as tough as stone. How could any customer not like the design if it could impress you?”
Farrah smiled as she continued, “Besides, they’re sure to love anything you love if they’re so fond of you. Don’t you think so?”
“So, you’re bribing me and trying to get something out of me?” Adrian understood her motives now.
You’re asking why it’s called Enduring Moments. It wasn’t because you wanted to know about my past as my wife but as a designer seeking insight?”
Why did that annoy him so much?
“What else do you think?” Farrah smiled and wasn’t aware of his growing irritation. “It’s designed for your first love, isn’t it? Did you fall for her at first sight? Why didn’t you marry her?”
His thick brows drew together in obvious displeasure as she rattled off her questions.
Farrah’s heart skipped a beat as she quickly averted her curious gaze.
He calmly set down the fork and took out his phone to pull up a photo before handing her the phone. “Did you recognize this person?”
She lifted her gaze. “Mr. Lovelace?” She was slightly confused.
Adrian stared at her for a few seconds without saying a word before silently withdrawing the phone. He continued eating the dessert and asked, “Does Mr. Lovelace like this dessert?”
“No, absolutely not.” Farrah shook her head. “I’ve never made this one for him.”
Adrian was stunned as he lifted his gaze and looked at her across him. “Didn’t he like Sweet Sun?”
Farrah smiled brightly. “Sweet Sun is a broad concept, Every version is different, but they’re all made by me. It’s kind of like a surprise box.”
Her response was not what he expected…
“How did you know I could make Sweet Sun?”
“I didn’t. But I knew he liked it,” Adrian replied calmly.
She said, “Mr. Lovelace has never tried this one. Mr. Locke, you’re quite lucky today as you’ve just had a one–of–a–kind dessert.”
“Did you use a special recipe each time you made a dessert for him?” Adrian asked again, “Why is he so fond of Sweet Sun?”
“Have you been investigating me?”
“I’m investigating him.”

She pondered momentarily before answering. “This is becouse Sweet Sun can cure insomnia. Mr.
Lovelace has trouble sleeping. I’ve added some herbs to the dessert. You’ll sleep better tonight too after eating this.”
“Herbs?”
“Yes.”
Adrian’s expression grew slightly serious. “Is it safe to add them so casually?”
“Who said I was being casual about it?” Farrah retorted. “I’ve studied traditional medicine. I understand how it works.”
He looked at her with a hint of doubt. “You should leave now. I have a video conference to attend.”
She knew he wouldn’t tell her the story behind Enduring Moments. She sighed and didn’t him either. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Thus, she turned around and left. He had at least eaten her dessert. She thought maybe that gesture was enough to bring them a little closer.
Adrian put down his fork after Farrah left.
First of all, he wasn’t a fan of desserts. Second of all, he had eaten a piece at Fairytale Cottage earlier.
Farrah carried her laptop out to the terrace. Her phone rang just as she settled into the couch. She glanced at the screen and saw that it was Philip. She quickly answered the call. “Hello, Grandpa.”
“Fay, where are you?” His kind voice came through. “Are you both done with work?”
“Mm, yes. I’m home now,” she replied sweetly. “Grandpa, how have you been lately?”
“I’m doing well, just missing both of you,” he said. “How about you and Adrian come to Locke Manor for dinner every Friday starting next week?”
