Chapter 12: Dead Man Tell No Tales
Chapter 12: Dead Man Tell No Tales
~*~*~*
*VENUS's POV*
Alpha Derek's reaction was a bit confusing on my part. I can't fathom why he won't respond to my
advances when werewolves usually bite back as soon as they get tempted like that.
I need to ask someone why my ability isn't working on him.
After he had left, I had no choice but to continue the journey alone. As I traveled from place to place,
tracking the scent of the end, I immediately stopped when I noticed how suspiciously quiet the forest
had been.
"That's weird.."
It's been miles, and I haven't seen any creatures? Yet I only continued to be wary until I saw a track of
dead monsters. The trail reached so far that my eyes couldn't see how far it went.
Wow, I didn't know someone this strong was among the participants, though they could be a group- it
tells me a single person did it since the wound marks were left on the same places on each dead body.
I scrunched my nose, "Just what kind of monster did this?"
Then a twig broke.
My eyes abruptly shifted to the sound direction. My senses heightened as I stood by in alert for
enemies. Behind me, a man as tall as Alpha Derek stood by a tree, and it was no other than the guy I
met at the cabin.
I've only noticed it now, but it was beautiful how his blue eyes resembled that of the oceans. His light
grey hair and pale skin were only noticeable under dim daylight. The only thing I hated at the moment
was how he looked at me with a smug expression.
"Found you~."
I slapped my forehead. "Hah, to think you followed me all the way here, were you that desperate to get
laid?"
"Maybe," He says as he strides towards me, "Or maybe I'm just curious about you."
"There's nothing to be curious of, now move."
I shoved him out of my way, but he kept interfering in my path that I tried to punch him. He dodged
some of them but also received most of them. Yet despite all that hassle to move him, he just laughed
at all of my attempts.
We were so close to the end of the forest that my patience also reached its limits. I couldn't believe that
I'd leave the woods with this psychopath with me. Who knows what his planning at?
I stopped and glared at him, "Aren't you going to stop?! Just how long can you keep on being
annoying!"
"Tell me, why do you want to join Crescent Moon? You can just join Dark Moon pack. It's the same
anyways. But this time, it'd be a free pass on your account." He chattered, ignoring my complaints.
"Shut up. No one cares." I replied.
Since he was bent on trying to annoy me, I gave up on scolding him and was about to continue walking
if it weren't for his hand, that stopped me.
"I do. I want you in my pack."
"In my pack?"
"I forgot, we didn't introduce ourselves. I'm Seff, Alpha of Dark Moon pack. You?" He smiles.
Yet even with how he was expressing himself, I knew how he was acting, since I was an actress to
emotions myself.
I can't trust him.
"I don't know... last time I checked, you wanted to kill me. So what's with this 360 turn-in attitude?"
He chuckles, "I told you, I'm just curious. If I weren't sincere, they wouldn't have already snitched on
you? After all, I knew that you're that spy who attempted to kill Derek. "
He leaned on my ear. It was a bit sudden, so I backed down a bit. He smirks before he leans in once
again. He whispered, "But don't worry, I won't tell. I'm good at keeping secrets, you see."
"Whatever, I won't believe you anyway. No need waste your time to persuade-"
My eyes widened. It was only at that moment that i felt my left foot being wrapped by a sticky red
tongue that emerged from below. I gasped when it pulled me upside down, I came face to face with the
monster about 15 ft tall.
It snarls at me.
"You need my help?" Seff shouts in my direction, the amusement displayed in his tone.
"Fuck off!"
My eyebrow knitted in frustration. If I could handle this crazy guy, there's no way I can't take this ugly
ass monster. Using my abdomen, I sprung up and pulled out a knife to slice its tongue before it tried to
swallow me. I fell on the ground.
"What are you doing? Shift." He demanded.
I rolled my eyes, so that's what he was after.
"You still doubt my identity? Didn't you already know I'm a hybrid?"
"I do, but I don't know your capabilities as a hybrid. Who knows, maybe you can't shift at all?" He
smirks, obviously provoking me.
I didn't want to hear any of his childish attempts to manipulate me anymore and finished the monster in
one slash by focusing all my strength on its visible neck, where I could hear where its heart was.
"Boring." Seff yawns, "We're already at the end of the forest. Why are you so hasty? You still got an
hour before the test ends."
I squinted my eyes. That was precisely the point. I was at the end of the forest, relief was usually the
feeling of reaching a goal, but since this bastard was with me, my brain was telling me that the test still
hadn't concluded.
"There was still one monster left in my path."
"Huh?" Where?" he turns around. It only took him a second before he realized that I was referring to
him. "Me?"
I look at him. "You're so annoying, I should kill you while it's still legal."

SEFF's POV NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
She wasn't joking. I felt the air get heavy and the aura around her turning into hostility. She bared her
knife with bloodlust that I couldn't help but be in a defensive stance.
After our little fight not too long ago, i learned not to underestimate her. Her skills and technique weren't
to be trifled with. Though she can't match my strength, her agility and speed were making up for it.
When i tried dodging her low kick to trip me down, she used that chance to simultaneously swing her
knife towards my neck. I was a bit late to react that she slightly slit a small cut on the left side of the
neck.
I slid back, put my hands on the wound, and inspected it. "You almost had me there, and you're really
good despite being a half-assed breed."
She growled, "Shut up and just lay dead!"
She got too hasty and tried to land a kick on my skull but failed miserably when I caught her feet and
swung her off to a tree, hard enough that it broke the tree on impact.
"Sorry, did I threw you off too hard?" I chuckled.
I felt terrible for venting on her, but since my body was screaming pain from her blows a while ago, I
just thought it wouldn't be wrong to see where her limits stopped. I got down on her level and grabbed
her chin.
"Don't be so hasty to kill me, babe. That wouldn't be fun. We still have lots of things to do." I said in a
whisper-like tone.
She's too amusing and entertaining to ignore. Even though she was trying to kill me sincerely, it
strangely even turned me on. I don't know what exactly attracts me to her, but I knew i couldn't stop
bothering her at this point.
I grinned. Well... even if I want to, this desire to conquer this arrogant woman far exceeds my goal right
now.
"Don't touch me." She huffs, her purple eyes filled with venom.
"What if I want to-"
My eyes widened. I got a bit too distracted since she was so close to me, and the distance between her
and me was inevitable to react on time. Before I knew it, her knife was piercing through my chest.
I started to cough blood.
She says in a mocking tone, "Listen here, you little shit, just seeing you breathing isn't fun for me. It
would be best if you didn't keep my secrets. As they say, dead man tells no tales."
