The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 33 About the Evidence from Five Years Ago

This was Blair, Allison's real mom, and she had disappointed her time and time again.

Seeing Allison so down, Thalia's heart ached. She hadn't known Allison long, but she just couldn't believe Allison had sex and an abortion at thirteen.

But that was what Allison's mom claimed, causing a huge stir in the courtroom.

The crowd's whispers felt like daggers to Allison's heart.

The judge turned to Allison and asked, "Allison, do you have anything to say about your mom's testimony?"

Even the judge was puzzled, not understanding why a mom would treat her daughter like this.

Allison slowly stood up and looked at Blair across the room. "Your Honor, I have a request!"

"Go ahead!"

Allison clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and said, "I want to present evidence from five years ago. I hope you'll compare both sides and see which one is true! Also, I want this case to be public so everyone can know the truth!" For five years, Allison never thought of exposing the truth because it seemed pointless.

No one believed her, and even with evidence, it wouldn't matter. But today, she realized that keeping quiet only made things worse.

Blair started to panic. If the truth came out, what would happen to Yasmin? "Allison, are you crazy? What about your dignity? If you don't care, the Bennett family does!"

Allison saw Blair's conflict. She wanted Allison humiliated, even jailed, but couldn't face the truth's consequences.

Since it had to be resolved, Allison pulled out a USB drive from her bag and handed it to the court staff.

The staff opened the USB and found several folders dated from five years ago.

The judge reviewed the files and then went silent. He suddenly looked at Blair with a stern face. "Mrs. Bennett, are you sure the documents you submitted are genuine and valid?" Blair hesitated, glanced at Allison, and then nodded silently.

The judge said nothing more but had the staff show Blair the evidence Allison provided.

After looking at it, Blair was stunned. "That's impossible! How could it be?"

The staff looked at her coldly. "In your documents, you even got your daughter's blood type wrong. Allison is type O, but it says type B here. How could you miss such an obvious mistake?" Liliana and Mia were sitting below. They couldn't see the evidence but knew Allison had been framed five years ago.

Mia was heartbroken and started to sob, while Liliana watched Allison standing firm in front of Blair and sighed inwardly.

Blair's evidence was proven false, and she was scolded by the judge before leaving in disgrace. Back to Sophia's case, even though Sophia was still in the hospital recovering, the evidence of her wrongdoing was clear. The court adjourned and would announce the verdict later.

As they left the courtroom, Allison felt a pain in her shoulder and looked up at the sky, finding the sun blinding.

Mia and Liliana caught up. "Allison, wait up!"

Allison forced a smile. "Liliana, I'm really tired. I want to go home first."

Seeing Allison didn't look well, Liliana nodded. "Let Thalia take you home, Allison. Don't think about anything and get some sleep."

Allison nodded. She couldn't even fake a smile. Thalia took her out through a side door, with bodyguards clearing the way, keeping reporters at bay.

In the car, Allison realized this must've been Alexander's doing.

Outside the courthouse, Blair, Ronan, and Madeline were swarmed by reporters, all dying to know what evidence Allison had submitted and what really happened five years ago.

Blair, with her head down and silent, just kept pushing her way out. Her hair got all messed up, and her clothes were wrinkled by the time she finally broke free and left the courthouse.

Madeline and Ronan were in even worse shape. Ronan wanted to overturn the case, but he couldn't deny that Sophia had hired someone to hurt others and thrown acid. The undefeated Ronan was about to lose this one.

Sitting in the car, Allison was quiet for a long time before suddenly asking, "How many years will Sophia get?"

Thalia thought for a moment. "At least ten years in prison."

Kidnapping, attempted murder, and throwing acid would get her at least ten years. Sophia had ruined her life at such a young age.

Back home, Allison collapsed onto the couch. When Allison's mind finally relaxed, her body didn't hold up either, and she came down with a high fever.

By the time Alexander found out, it was already afternoon. Allison's face was flushed, and she was delirious.

"Allison, wake up!" He touched her forehead and hands, which were burning hot. Alexander panicked and carried her out.

At the hospital, her temperature was 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Even the doctor was startled. "The patient's condition is serious. The wounds on her back haven't been properly treated, and combined with psychological stress, she's developed a high fever. She'll need to stay in the hospital for a few days."

Alexander had no objections. When he saw Allison's back covered in bruises, he felt heartbroken. Beside him, James said cautiously, "Mr. Carter, the Brown family has fled, and all their assets have been seized by the court. Mr. Brown has absconded with the money, and his whereabouts are unknown. As for the Stevens family, Mr. Parker Stevens wants to meet with you."

Alexander had ruined the Brown family for Allison. They were already weak, so their downfall was inevitable.

But the Stevens family was different. They owned many mines and had rights to dozens of mineral deposits, which couldn't be destroyed overnight.

"Notify all shipping companies to refuse to load any of the Stevens family's cargo. Then tell Mr. Parker Stevens that if his heir is beyond saving, he should be replaced. He's still vigorous and can have another son."novelbin

In other words, if the Stevens family handed over Everett, their business could be saved; otherwise, it would be destroyed.

Everett had always been a troublemaker. His usual antics were one thing, but getting involved with Alexander was another. The more Parker thought about it, the angrier he got, and he went home to give Everett a severe beating. Everett was confused. "Dad, are you crazy? Why are you hitting me?"

Parker was holding a whip while hitting Everett.

This was a family heirloom of the Stevens family, used to punish those who broke family rules.

Parker was furious. "You drove me crazy! How dare you go after someone connected to the Carter family. Are you out of your mind?"

"Dad, I just like Allison. What does she have to do with the Carter family? She's not even part of the Carter family!"

Parker was infuriated by his foolish son. Remembering Alexander's words, Parker thought it might be time to consider having another son.

Parker said coldly, "Alexander's got her back, Everett. Can't you see what's going on between them? Listen up: stay out of the Brown family business. You're leaving the country in a few days. If you cause any more trouble, I'll cut you off!"
