Chapter 31 Creepy Monday Anna Michelle
Birds chirp in harmony like an orchestra that pays tribute to the glorious morning.
The air was crisped and the grass bathed in dewdrops. She inhaled deeply. This made her smile. No whizzing breathes. Just pure clean air filling her lungs. All thanks to one man.
Xavier, her beloved. He always walked with her before sunrise, before he rested. She loved those moments.
He was aloof and stiff, sometimes indifferent to other people, all of that changed if he was with her. His touches were gentle like she was made of the rarest and most expensive of porcelains.
His whispers of endearments in her ears were like butterfly’s wings. Even their first kiss –she flushed at the memory of her boldness– even that was soft and gentle. Xavier was patient, he didn’t devour. He claimed.
She shivered in delight at their passion. Her first kiss. The first of many. He hasn’t gone beyond that and he would not be persuaded.
He said they will wait for the right time. Right now, he was happy and contented with the way things were progressing.
Love. Xavier tells her every chance he got. And his actions were proof in itself.
How a sickly stick like her could be so lucky was beyond comprehension. She was afraid at some point she will wake up and find it all a dream. Her beloved always soothed her fears but…
Mish sighed. Recalling the time Xavier revealed everything to her. He gave her the chance to choose. She did. She chose him. And she will never change her mind.
She knew he was a vampire. In her dreams, she had known him for a long time. Her dreams were filled with him ever since she was a child. Mostly she was sick and always get better after such dreams. He took care of her even then.
Dreamy hazel eyes fell on her left hand. A huge oblong cut pink diamond rested. His promise ring.
Sofia mentioned it was an heirloom passed down from generation to generation. It was one of a kind. And Xavier has entrusted this rock on her.
So it meant they were going to marry when she became legal? Or was it a mating ceremony? Like what Anna had?
She would love that with Xavier. Smiling dreamily and a bit giddy. To spend the rest of her life with him would be a dream come true.
The sun’s rays rested on the thick line of trees. She ambled past the scented flower beds. It was her turn to look after her eldest sister. She will bully Rie to get some rest.
“Help!”
Her head whipped to the sound of a plea. Where? Squinting her greenish-brown eyes, she gazed beyond the trees. Specks of black and white registered.
There!
A child. She ran to the poor baby without hesitation. Her security team surrounded her.
Ridiculous! She rolled her eyes. A tiny girl wouldn’t do her harm. Sometimes Xavier and the company were overzealous with their protectiveness.
“Hey, baby,” Mish crouch down to avoid spooking the wee girl. She looked pale and tears streamed down her cheeks.
“Hi…” The tiny girl answered in a tiny voice.
Mish frowned. Did the girl get lost?
“Where are your parents?” She looked around her. Surely, this was a pack member or from her beloved’s royal clan.
“My…” she hiccuped. Poor child. “My daddy went with the white king.”
Oh. Vampire then.
She looked up for guidance to the head of her security team. Blank faces stared back at her.
“Do you know her father?” She addressed the leader. The man’s brows furrowed. Apparently, not.
“What’s your dad’s name, baby?” She bent down to carry the young vampire.
“It’s John.” She mumbled, sucking her thumb adorably.
“I know John. Didn’t know he has a little girl.” She glanced at the tall man beside her. He looked confused. Maybe this child was… well, she wouldn’t say it. This was a defenseless child even if she was a by-blow.
“Let’s take you to the kitchen, eh?” The poppet giggled. Nodding excitedly.
“Let me carry her for you, my queen.” Arg! Mish will never get used to that title. Everyone at Xavier’s estate had called her when they stayed there during Anna’s honeymoon. The title has stuck since then.
Her protests had entertained her beloved. She shook her head.
I miss him. Please be back soon.
“It’s ok. She is not heavy. Please find her mother for me? Or guardian tonight? The sun is out, I don’t want you guys getting extreme sunburn.”
Although the witch had placed a spell on them so they won’t lose their strength in direct sunlight, it will still cause severe blister with excessive exposure. She could see steam coming out of their skin.
Damn! She was foolish, having to disregard their safety.
He and his men bowed low. “The warriors are on their way to guard you, my Queen.” She nodded. Dismissing them with a smile.
“Yes. Get some rest. I’ll see you tonight.” She watched them leave the kitchen. Another set of heavily built men came to replace them.
Ridiculous.

The vial she has with her will put the young queen to sleep before the powerful vampires awake.
It was not enough though. She had to think of something better. Something to get the two sisters and kidnap them under the powerful kings’ noses.
There was a fucking setback. She couldn’t get close to the Lycan Queen. The pain was unbearable. Queen Anna was inside a blinding cocoon and surrounded by magical petals.
Shit! The powerful Esmeralda. How to break the protection spell? She had to do this today before sundown.
Maybe she could create one that will allow her to be transported from this estate with the King’s beloved and the Lycan King’s mate? Hitting two birds in one stone. They were in the same room after all. Time to find out.
“Mish, can I go to the bathroom?” She hated acting like a child but hey it worked.
“Do you want me to go with you, baby?” She rolled her eyes internally. Dumb bitchy naive queen. She needed to be fucking alone so she can do her job.
“I know where it is.” Anna Michelle smiles at her sickly sweet. She felt like gagging. She smiled back innocently to avoid suspicion.
“Ok, baby. Get back right away, ok?” Oh, she will, vampire queen. She will deliver them to her master. Pinky promise.
Time to test her power to its limits.

Anna Michelle
Her eyes followed the tiny child exiting the hospital room. A sixth sense urging her to analyze the situation. There was something weird about the child. What was it?
And why? What harm could a six-year-old girl do? Was it because she had a direct and piercing gaze that made her skin crawl? It was so unkind of her to think that. Especially on an innocent child. But…
Why hasn’t she burned in the sunlight? They play in the gardens after breakfast. The girl has no protection spell. There should have been blisters on her exposed arms and chubby cheeks. Was she immune to it because she was just a child?
She made a mental note to ask Sofia tonight. Rie and Alexie will be back in a few hours. It was her and the little girl for a while.
Her slender form settled on her sister’s side. Anna looked so beautiful sleeping. Peaceful and serene. The medical instruments attached to her had been removed. All that surrounded her were fragrant petals that don’t wither and a warm halo that brought comfort.
Mish watched her slender fingers braiding her sister’s thick locks. “Sister, when are you waking up? We miss you. Xander misses you. You have been sleeping for days now.” Her eyelids fluttered a bit as if she was responding to Mish’s voice.
In the medical world, they call this a comatose state but Alexie had explained a dark witch has drained her sister of her strength plus she was almost ready to shift to her wolf.
They were all excited for that to happen.
Mish swallowed her shriek of surprise and jumped out of her chair when everything went black in a blink of an eye.
The only light instantly illuminating the room was from the halo on the hospital bed.
She was freezing to death from the gushes of cold wind and she couldn’t see anything beyond the light.
A burst of eerie laughter filled the cold air, raising goosebumps in its wake.
“Who are you?” Mish embraced Anna’s vulnerable body, desperate to protect her sister.
Where were her warriors? She couldn’t hear anyone outside the door.
Suddenly, the hot and cold wind swirled around the bed, the force was enough to spin her and Anna.
“Who are you? Release us!” She sobbed. Xavier. Beloved.
Not letting go of her sister. She prayed for someone to rescue them.
“I am your worst nightmare, Vampire Queen.” The child’s voice. Oh, God! Deep demonic laughter taunted her. Followed by a cruel cackle.
“No!” Her pleas fell on deaf ears.
