The True Heiress's Return

Chapter 337

Chapter 337

Jasmin stood behind with his arms crossed and chuckled. "It is said that troublemakers live long. You still managed to bring him back when he was on his last breath. Isn't that tough luck?"

Shakira was lost for words, silently looked back to glance at him, and coughed. "Ahem."

Jasmin, respectful of Shakira, touched his face, with the smile falling away.

The ward was equipped with professional medical tools. Shakira picked up a stethoscope to listen to Mitchell's chest and then placed her hand to feel his pulse.

As she checked, she noticed Mitchell's index finger moved slightly. It was subtle, but definitely a response. Shakira frowned a little and asked, "When did he start showing slight reactions?"

"It was when I last sent you a message. The caregiver noticed some signs, and I informed you immediately. We've been noting it down-it's happening more often lately." replied Jasmin.

Jasmin, with his hands behind his back, asked, "Does this mean he's waking up?"

Shakira took off the stethoscope. "Yes, it won't take long before he wakes up."

Jasmin admired her. "No wonder you're the mentor, bringing him back even after that."

Shakira turned sideways, looking down at the handsome man with closed eyes lying on the hospital bed. "It's his strong will to live and it has nothing to do with me."

"Oh, don't be so modest, Shakira." Jasmin chuckled, suddenly thinking of something that made his smile meaningfully. "When Mitchell wakes up, the Nelson family will be thrilled, right? The one who caused his accident can't escape this time. Karma's coming for them."

"Who knows?" With a nonchalant attitude, Shakira got up and walked towards the door. Before leaving, she remembered. "Oh, right. You managed to get that set used by the girl who fought cancer. Check the ingredients for me."

Jasmin made an okay gesture. "No problem, it seems like Shakira is also interested in these miraculous skincare products." "I just feel there's something fishy about it. It is better to investigate to know for sure. Thanks for your help," said Shakira. "No need to thank me. Shakira. It's no big deal," replied Jasmin.

Shakira nodded and pushed the door open to leave.

Jasmin stood at the foot of the bed, looking at the man lying there like a sleeping prince. His eyes were full of interest. "How interesting it is!" he mused.

After finishing her skincare routine, Xanthe pulled Shakira along for a shopping trip at a nearby mall.

Xanthe confidently made her way to her usual beauty brand's store, only to find...

"Huh? It's gone, did they move it?" asked Xanthe

Shakira noticed a notice on the wall. "New store under preparation." It looked like some new store would be opened.

"What's going on? This keeps happening. I went to the mall at Lions Gate last night for this store.

"It had moved too. This brand is famous for picking prime spots where there's a lot of foot traffic. What are they thinking of moving two locations one after the other?"

Shakira, deep in thougin, snapped a photo and sent a message to Sean. Xanthe, not giving up, found another store nearby, Just as they were about to head there, a black car blocked their way.

"Ms. Nelson, Mrs. Banks would like you to come over." Seeing the menacing group of men in front of them, Xanthe held tightly onto Shakira's arm and shouted at the leading old man, Who is Mrs. Banks? Is this an invitation or a kidnapping?"

The old man remained unfazed and quietly said, "Please cooperate, Ms. Nelson, otherwise it won't look good if the other two gets hurt." Xanthe, with her quick temper, inmediately lifted her foot to kick the man and didn't care about respecting the elderly now.

Shakira noticed out of the corner of her eye that the man in black on their left was already making a trained attack move. She quickly pulled Xanthe back, put her arm in front of Xanthe, and said, "I'll go with you all."

"No way," Xanthe said confidently. "If you're going, we're going together. If they try something, I can help you fight them off." The old man gestured. "As long as you both cooperate, not a single hair on your head will be harmed."

The car drove from the mall to Harborview Medical Center. Then they took the elevator to the SVIP ward. Shakira's mind started putting the pieces together, and she was pretty sure who had "invited" her here.

Passing through the doorway into the top-tier suite filled with the strong scent of alcohol, Shakira remained composed. Jaslene sat by the bed. Her gaze was rude and straightforward as she sized up Shakira. "It seems that you know I had him brought you here."

Shakira shrugged. "In my circle, there are few who are as audacious and brash as you." Jaslene's eyes suddenly turned cold. Xanthe, still puzzled, whispered, "Shakira, who's this old lady? She seems really fierce."

"Fiona's grandma, the former head of the Banks family," replied Shakira.

"Fiona's grandma." Xanthe instantly felt relieved. "Now that you mention it, I really think they are quite similar. Fiona also looks down her nose at people. Guess it runs in the family."

"Shut up." Jaslene snapped, "You dirty commoners, who gave you the audacity to judge our Fiona."

Xanthe felt annoyed. "Jaslene, are you alright? Is Fiona a princess or something? And commoners... are you acting out a royal drama at your age."

Seeing Jaslene's eyes widen and her face turn red, Shakira felt a slight worried. She kindly reminded, "Jaslene, if you're not feeling well, take in some oxygen might help."

"Shut up, you seductress. It's not your place to order me around, shouted Jaslene.

Jaslene glared angrily. "I used to ignore it, thinking Walter would get tired and kick you out when he was done. I didn't expect you to have such a strong hold on him this long, and even sneaking into Lopez Group as an intern."

"Since you're obstructing Fiona's path, I have no choice but to intervene," said Jaslene.

Jaslene squinted slightly and pointed to the documents on the table. "On the table are the documents of two sets of 6800 square feet luxury apartments downtown and a check of 1.5 million dollars.

"They are the most crucial turning point in your life. I'm giving you one chance, Shakira. Be smart. Take what you should, and disappear from Walter's life, or else..."

She didn't finish talking, with her eyes showing a sharp, dangerous gleam. Facing Jaslene's threats and bribes, Shakira found it ridiculous and thought, "Do these high-society elites think they're superior? Can they ignore all limits and do whatever they please because of money and power?'

Xanthe exclaimed, "Wow, those luxury apartments at Fortune Global are now worth over three million dollars. Two apartments plus 1.5 million must be worth nine million dollars.

Jaslene scoffed, thinking they were all short-sighted. "Shakira, did you hear that? Even your friend knows the right choice to make."

"No. I'm surprised at how stingy you're." Xanthe calculated for her. "Shakira is with Mr. Lopez now. She's the girlfriend and future wife. The Lopez Group is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. You're trying to get by with nine million dollars? That's cheap."

Jaslene's face turned dark. "You-"

"Plus, even if Shakira took your money and left, Mr. Lopez wouldn't get together with Fiona. Even if he likes the guy next door, it still wouldn't be your Fiona," said Xanthe.

Jaslene glared at Xanthe who was spilling harsh words like a little firecracker, and pointed a trembling finger at her, with her face flushed with anger.

Before Jaslene could start cursing, she heard Xanthe muttering to herself in confusion. "Weird, even if Fiona is an only child, she shouldn't be spoiled so mindlessly.

"Nearly getting killed because of her precious granddaughter, yet she's still thinking about getting rid of her granddaughter's love rivals?"

Jaslene was so angry that she blanked out. "What did you say?"novelbin
