Chapter 34
He blurted out, "Let's set her aside for now; we need to talk about the game."
Lemira spoke up, "If we want to win this, everyone needs to follow my lead from here on out."
Alaric was the first to challenge her, "And why should we?"
Lemira's eyes were serious, "Because I know how to win." She was unusually calm as she laid out her thoughts and plans.
Having watched the game earlier, she had a pretty good grasp of the SkyBlaze team members. They had trained together before, so Lemira knew what she was talking about.
"Anyone can talk big. Don't think you're unbeatable just because you're a little talented. You haven't even been training lately. How can you guarantee a win?"
Lemira's lips tightened, "If you won't follow my lead, then I'm out of the competition."
Alaric scoffed, "Fine, leave. Do you think you're that important?"
Lucian quickly intervened, "If no one else has any better ideas, let's just go with her instruction for now."
Alaric, though reluctant, couldn't argue. They were out of options.
The competition was about to resume.
Lemira took Evelina's seat. It was her seat in the past life.
As she put the headphones back on, her expression turned determined. This time, she wasn't fighting to please Alaric. She was competing for herself.
The last-minute change in the SkyBlaze lineup sparked a bit of discussion.
Orion stood by the window on the second floor, watching the girl who was seriously competing.
Thaddeus remarked, "Didn't you say she was just here to spectate? And now she's entered the competition. It seems, despite being treated unfairly by her family, they're still more important to her." "You're wrong. She's doing it for herself now."
Orion knew the reason she joined the competition. It definitely wasn't to please Alaric. Her brilliance was all her own now.
The game began, and the announcer started to comment, "SkyBlaze has had a bit of a hiccup with a last-minute player change. This new player seems a bit unfamiliar; it's uncertain how well she'll perform. SkyBlaze is not in an enviable position right now; how will they break through?" Lemira dove into the game, playing on Evelina's account, just like her old role-allowing her to adapt quickly.
She had a plan in place, waiting for the enemy to encircle them. But at a critical moment, Alaric suddenly charged out, revealing their position.
Lemira cursed under her breath, "What are you doing?"Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Don't worry about it, I can break through on my own!" Alaric ran out, trying to prove himself, but ended up getting pinned down and beaten by the opposition.
Lemira wasn't surprised. She commanded directly, "Support, cover me. Everyone else, stick to the plan."
She burst from behind the wall, cannon in hand, and blasted at the enemy. Her figure darted between buildings, appearing just long enough to disrupt the enemy's rhythm with her attacks.
The announcer got excited, "Wow, her moves are impressive-so skilled, hardly what you'd expect from a newbie, more like a seasoned pro.
She just stopped dead in her tracks, dodging the enemy's ultimate move. How did she anticipate that?
Look, she's charging forward, leaping into the air and unleashing a twelve-hit combo! That's a move only the legendary King could pull off. How can this newcomer possibly achieve that? It's unbelievable!" The crowd went wild; the entire venue electrified!
King was a legend in everyone's eyes! Though the legend had retired years ago, his legacy lived on.
What connection could this new girl possibly have with King?
