Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1688

Colby moved closer to Sophie, whispering, "I know you're tired, a lot has happened today. It's okay, I'm here with you. Everything is over now." Sophie glanced at Gordon's indifferent profile, her mind filled with the gentle murmurs of the boy from her dreams.

At this point, Sophie knew all too well, even if she pressed on, she wouldn't get the answers she sought.

"Maybe I'm just overthinking it."

Her tone was flat.

Hearing Sophie say this, everyone visibly relaxed.

Yet, Colby knew Sophie wasn't ready to give up on uncovering the truth.

Even if the truth was often brutally harsh.

"Ouch! Be gentle!"

Adler winced as Odie, lost in thought, poked him sharply.

Odie snapped back to reality, frowning. "C'mon, man up! Does it hurt that much? I've taken worse beatings without a peep!"

"You've got thick skin, I'm not used to roughing it, okay?"

"Say that again?"

"It's you I'm talking about!"

"So, you wanna fight about it? You know I've always held back with you! You really think you're tougher?" "Bring it on, who's afraid?"

"There's nothing special about it, just smoke and mirrors," Griffin commented.novelbin

"It's not just smoke and mirrors."

Kiran observed the surroundings, adding, "The old man once walked through here in his youth, said this place could soothe one's regrets." Odie scoffed, "If such places really existed, the world wouldn't be full of tragedies."

Adler retorted, "What do you know?"

"As clueless as I may be, I surely know more than you."

"Can you two not always be at each other's throats like you've swallowed gunpowder? We need to get out of here ve your words and fights for

later!" ,

Following Jenna's interjection, Adler immediately clamped shut, "Wife's orders."

Odie silently rolled his eyes at the scene.

As Odie moved forward, a young boy's joyful voice suddenly rang in his ears, "Mommy!"

That voice made Odie pause.
