Unexpected Encounter with my Boss (Vincent and Tiffany)

Chapter 193

William slowly took the rope from Tiffany's hands. Joyce instantly grabbed his arm in a panic, her voice trembling. "William..." She was genuinely scared.

These past few days, William's emotions had been so unstable. She dared not let him leave, even having people watch him at home.

The doctor visited many times daily. They had even called in a priest to perform a cleansing. But nothing could deter his desire for death. William stared at the rope for a moment, then slowly raised his head to look at Tiffany. His face was haggard, having withered to skin and bones in just days. His lips pressed tightly now, anguish churning in his eyes.

After a long pause, he abruptly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

...

The family doctor arrived swiftly. Donald rushed home from the office upon hearing the news.

Meanwhile, Joyce had been weeping ceaselessly. Donald frowned in silence.

An oppressive pall hung over the vast mansion.

Tiffany still remembered her first visit to the Lewis residence. She remembered Donald's warmth, Joyce's gentleness, and William's bright and amiable nature. She had envied their harmonious, cozy family life.

As a result, she longed for and anticipated her future with William.

Now, she could only lament how quickly life's circumstances changed.

The doctor emerged, and Joyce and Donald approached him anxiously.

"How's my son?" Joyce asked.

"Neck injuries from the strangulation, but it was severe enough to damage his vocal cords. Even if he recovers eventually, his voice may be permanently impaired." Joyce's body swayed, almost losing her balance. "Are you saying he'll lose his voice?"

"It can be treated, and he'll still be able to speak. But it would never be the same as before," the doctor explained.

A pang of regret flickered in Tiffany'snovelbin

eyes. William's major was broadcasting. Once, he had said that he didn't want to join the family business. He wanted to be a news anchor after he graduated.

This outcome was a cruel punishment for him.

Donald said, his voice heavy, "As long as he lives, we'll take things slowly."

The doctor nodded in agreement. "Yes. What's more serious than losing his voice is Mr. William's psychological condition.

"From my observations over the past few days, his mental trauma is the most frightening. That trauma has him teetering on the edge between life and death."

"We've consulted several

psychologists, and they all say it's a psychological blockage," Donald

said wearily. "Whenever Brianna' et

name is mentioned, he becomes

even more agitated. We're at a loss for what to do."

"Do you have any friends he gets along well with? Someone he respects and listens to," the doctor suggested. "Having that kind of friend provide guidance could help." Donald shook his head in disappointment.

While William appeared approachable, he had set up considerable walls with others. He maintained courtesy with everyone, but few could truly get close. Brianna was no longer an option...

That left only...

Joyce and Donald simultaneously thought of someone. They exchanged a glance before looking at Tiffany.

Without needing to say anything, Tiffany understood the meaning behind their gazes. She politely declined. "I'm sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis. I'm afraid I can't take on this responsibility."

Joyce came over and knelt before her. "Tiff, I'm begging you. Please save William. You're the only one who can save him now. Help me bring my son back from the abyss." "Mrs. Lewis..." Tiffany moved to help her up.

At that moment, Donald also approached them.
