Unexpected Encounter with my Boss (Vincent and Tiffany)

Chapter 194

As a man, Donald didn't kneel.

But his eyes were bloodshot, and his gaze was pleading as he looked at Tiffany. "Tiffany, I know William hurt you first. We have no right to ask this favor. But..."

He clenched his jaw tightly. "But he's our only son. If you can help him, we'll give you anything you want."

Tiffany shook her head. "I'm sorry, I really can't help you..."

Tiffany's feelings were pure, and her expectations of others were equally so.

The history between her and William remained an insurmountable wall. Moreover, she didn't believe she could have such an important impact on William. After leaving the Lewis residence, Tiffany tried contacting Brianna. But Brianna's number remained unreachable.

...

After a rainstorm, the weather suddenly turned cold.

Tiffany spent a week looking for jobs, sending out dozens of résumés. However, none yielded any results.

One day, after an interview, she ran into Donald. He had his driver pull over, rolling down the window to call out to her, "Tiffany? Is that you?"

"Mr. Lewis," Tiffany replied politely from the sidewalk.

"Are you here for an interview?" Donald glanced at the résumé in her hand.

"Yes."

"How did it go?"

Tiffany shook her head. Even without words, her dejected expression told Donald enough.

"Let me buy you a drink. There are a few things I'd like to discuss in person."

Out of respect, Donald's invitation brought no refusal. They sat down at a nearby café, and Donald slid Tiffany the menu. "Their carrot cake is quite good. You should try it."

Donald got straight to it. "The sales executive at WS Corp, how is he related to you?"

Tiffany stiffened, a sense of foreboding creeping over her. "My brother-in-law, Eric. Did he come to see you?"

deal, claiming William had promised him a contract. He seemed urgent so I looked into it. It seems he's gotten into some trouble at work. If he can't find a solution soon, he'll be fired."

Tiffany remained silent. She could guess why Donald invited her for a drink.

"Tiff, we really need your help. If you've thought it over, give me a call." Donald slid his business card over. He added, "Whether it's Eric's crisis or your job, I can help. I just have one condition, persuade William for me."

Leaving the café, Tiffany had planned to take a cab to Teresa's place. But at that moment, Eric's call came through.

Eric rarely called her, partly because Tiffany didn't often talk to him and partly because Eric pretended she didn't exist. Recalling Donald's words, Tiffany answered.

"Hello, Tiff," Eric spoke quickly. "Are you alone right now? Is it a good time to talk?"

Tiffany frowned. "What do you want?"

"I'm in some trouble here. Can you come over?"

Tiffany had a bad feeling about it and replied, "I don't have time..."

As she wanted to hang up, Eric added, "Tiff, if you won't help me, I'll have to call Teresa!"
